Isn't it ironic Betsy won't be called Butterfly but Layla is. We can't be sure that Betsy keeps her butterfly power when Foxe is done writing her.

We can't be sure, but I think they already tried to take it away and underestimated the vocal Betsy fans and the backlash with it.

We shall see, but I think the Butterfly is staying for now.

It's wild how Betsy's made more appearances this year than in the whole of last year. Now she's finally free for other writers to dive into.

The line up is reminiscent of X-Factor investigations. It's high time Moonstar got an updated look like Thunderbird. Magik is the golden child of the New Mutants the others are destined to stay in the student uniforms.

@Kiki M. Ishola Butterfly is a generic name for a mutant. Beast, Angel and Iceman are along those lines.

Given that Betsy is shown in the past to use the butterfly wings for telepathic communication, psychic attacks and telekinetic flight it wouldn't be unfit for a name.

@Nate X I wish this sudden surge of cameos came earlier with Betsy while she was fresh out the X of swords event. She was regularly used as a background character in mutant celebrations and galas, however nothing memorable and of value.

Exactly my thoughts @Randybear.

IMO TPTB thought they'd just simply give the butterfly to Kwannon and no one would care because she supposedly was the "Asian Ninja" now.

Not getting most Betsy fans always saw Betsy as so much more than that. With Betsy its always been its what is on the inside that counts not how she looks & the Butterfly (and I think at this point the psychic knife too) is definitely something Betsy fans see as being iconic to Betsy.

Imo they tried and failed, I don't see them trying again anytime soon.

The Psylocke and butterfly is the same with the white strand. You can't remove these trademarks from Betsy and Rogue. Aged Laura with the white strand is how Guan Yin looks with the purple Betsy hair and her butterfly.
