X-Men: Second Coming #1 Spoilers

Spoilers: Hope and Cable return to the present, only to find The Xavier Institute in ruins. In Utopia, Cyclops states that with Selene's attack, only 181 mutants are left on the planet. Mutantkind can't bear any more deaths. The Cuckoos warn Scott that Cerebra picked a new mutant signature: Cable. Cyclops is sure that Hope is with him. He sends Vanisher and Domino to San Franciso to wait for orders. He tells Rogue and Namor to stay and cover Utopia in case of attack. He puts the New Mutants in a holding pattern over the midwest aboard the Blackbird. And finally, he assembles his Alpha Roster [ Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Psylocke, X-23 and Angel ] and have Magik join them. Meanwhile, The Right soldiers attack Cable and Hope, without success. The Sapien League arrive at the scene and start chasing Cable and Hope. Cyclops and his Alpha Roster teleport to Winchester, but everyone is already gone. Scott emphasizes that nothing and no one is more important than Hope, and orders the X-Men to find her and bring her back to Utopia. Magik teleports the Alpha Roster right above the Sapien League's vans. The X-Men manage to beat them, and Wolverine asks one of them how are they tracking Cable and Hope. X-23 kills another one of them in cold blood to force the other to speak. Nightcrawler is outraged by Laura's killing. Psylocke is upset as she realizes Wolverine, X-23 and Angel are keeping something from the rest of them (During the story, the X-Force members imply they already know who are all those villains. Betsy, Kurt and Peter keep asking who are they, but the X-Forcers don't give them an answer.) Nightcrawler accuses Wolverine and Cyclops of knowing what this is all about. In Washington, Bastion gathers his human council and orders Stryker, Bolivar Trask, Steven Lang, Cameron Hodge and Graydon Creed to kill the girl.

The Story: Many will be wounded. Several will die. The climax of four years of X-Men stories is the X-Event of 2010! What started in House of M with the Decimation of mutantkind and erupted with the first new mutant birth in Messiah Complex finishes here. In the epic crossover Second Coming, Cyclops' faith pays off when Cable returns to the present with Hope, the girl he believes to be the mutant messiah. But will she be the savior or destroyer of mutantkind? We may never know, as she is the target of an initiative for mutant eradication unlike anything they X-Men have ever experienced. Many will be wounded. Several will die. Is Hope worth it?

Uncanny X-Men #522 Spoilers

Spoilers: Angel tells Cyclops that Kitty's bullet turned around and is heading back to Earth. Scott realizes this is Magneto's doing and returns to Utopia, while Emma stays with Erik. Dr. Nemesis warns Cyclops that by the time the bullet is close enough to scan it, it will be too late to stop it. Scott orders the X-Club to come up with something in order to hide the bullet from every sensor and living being so as to avoid global panic. That's what they do through a combined effort between Danger, The Cuckoos and the X-Club. Reed Richards contacts the X-Men and tells them they can't fool his satellites, but he will do what he can to help them. Cyclops also requests Dr. Cecilia Reyes to provide medical care for Magneto, and orders Fatomex, Wolverine, Colossus and Psylocke to return as fast as they can. Time goes by. Mutantkind gathers near Magneto. The bullet already can be seen from the naked eye. Erik uses his power to the maximum, and finally takes Kitty out of the bullet. Magneto passes out. Kitty stands up, only to find herself unable to speak and trapped in her phased form, much to Colossus' despair. Kitty is brought to the X-Men's lab. She is to stay inside a tube for the time being, while Magneto is still unconscious. The days go by, and life goes on as usual in Utopia, while Cyclops remains near the lab day after day.

Fun trivia: Fantomex is seen giving Psylocke some flowers. ^^

Breaking Into Comics The Marvel Way #2 Spoilers

Spoilers: The story takes place during House of M, when Psylocke and Rachel were sent to The White Hot Room. Rachel wonders why Psylocke's power manifest itself as a sword. Betsy reminds her there's also the butterfly. Psylocke explains that the butterfly wasn't just a manifestation of her telepathy, it was an expression of the subtlety and fine control she possessed as a telepath. On the other hand, the telekinetic katana is pure strenght and raw power, as it has to become an extension of her arm, of her will, responsive to her every thought. Rachel asks if the butterfly and the katana are two different expressions of Betsy's power. Psylocke corrects her: The butterfly can be the sword, the delicacy can live inside the power directing it and focusing it. They're not two different things. It's the same thing seen from different angles: Psylocke herself.

X-Men: The Days of Second Coming // Part 14 and 15

Source: IGN
17. Cable

The Road to Second Coming: Where Hope goes, Cable will follow. However, the last thing Cable is ready to do is put Hope in more danger. When he learns of the threat Bastion's forces pose, Cable will do whatever it takes to protect his daughter, even if that goes against the wishes of his father and the rest of the X-Men.

Zeb Wells: "Cable has lived almost two decades with one goal echoing in his mind: Protect the girl. His return with Hope signals the end to his time as her sole protector, but that doesn't mean he's just going to hand her over to the X-Men. In spite of himself, he's become a father to Hope."

18. Hope

The Road to Second Coming: Hope wants to return to the present and see the X-Men again. After all, they were the closest thing she ever had to friends. But a simple decision for Hope is about to lead to disastrous consequences for all of mutantkind. Hope will be forced to embrace her destiny and become either mutant messiah or doom to a species.

Chris Yost: "Every single mutant that looks at her expects so much from her. While Cyclops and Cable have carried a great burden, it's nothing compared to what she's about to face. Whether can or not, Hope is the one that everyone expects to save them all. That's a lot for anyone, much less a teenager."

Bastion has his own plans for the techno-organic virus, and Ramsey knows better than anyone what havoc the techno-organic virus can wreak. But if Bastion presents a clear threat to Ramsey, does Hope offer him a cause worth fighting for?

Zeb Wells: "He sees the journey between life and death as a language in and of itself. Where he could translate changes in meaning between letters and numbers before, he can now translate the symbols of life itself. He'll go where he's needed and help when he can"

15. Rogue

The Road to Second Coming: Since moving to Utopia, Rogue has accepted a new mission from Cyclops. She understands better than any mutant the dangers that come from improperly controlled powers. Rogue's task is to educate the younger residents of Utopia and help them safeguard what could be the final generation of mutants on Earth.

Mike Carey: "She's going to be pulled in two directions at some point, with duty and instinct calling on her to do two very different things. She'll have to decide which of those things she's best able to live with, but it's going to be a hard choice and one that puts her in a situation from which there's no going back."
