Betsy, displaying ferocity, suggests leaving the sword in. She delves into Absalom's mind to understand Selene's agenda. As Rictor attempts to restrain the Externals, Nicodemus holds them at bay and summons fire pillars. Despite Betsy's plea to stop, Nicodemus asserts that the children are already gone, signaling their departure.
The confrontation concludes with Absalom, wounded but defiant, claiming he doesn't need eyes to deal with the heroes. Nicodemus, declaring their departure, hints at ominous events calling mortals to hell. The situation remains tense as the Externals prepare to leave, leaving the heroes with unanswered questions and a sense of impending doom.
