Great fight! I don't get why the columnist from CBR's The Buy Pile section classified this issue as a bad one...

It's interesting to see Yukio saying that Betsy isn't acting like herself (although I doubt they know each other well enough to know how each other behaves). In Uncanny's Sisterhood arc, Psylocke fought her inner evil self, and Fraction hinted that Betsy wasn't exactly as we know in the inside... could that mean that her evil personality (...the New Exiles' Lady Mandarim, perhaps?) is taking control over her body??

Yukio said she isn't acting like herself because she's being motivated by rage and hatred, which is not very usual for Betsy.

When does issue number 2 come out?
I've got #1 and I loved it

#2 was released last week.

It wasn't too bad to me. It wasn't as good as issue one though. It felt like a short bridge in between something that could lead to something more. I think it would have been better if issue one and two were just one whole issue. I still believe this mini should have been 5 issues, I think 4 issues with this pacing will hurt how it's received as a whole outside of us Psylocke fans.

Still better than Fraction's stuff though.

Oh man. This issue was simply brilliant. I thought it was hundreds of times better than issue #1. Can't believe it! Great characterization, amazing use of powers, fast-paced action sequences all in one story. It felt like a movie!

I'm in love.

Does anyone know how well Psylocke 2 sold?

Xypha said...

@Centurion - Hi. Psylocke #2 sold out in a few days just as #1 did from Sydney's leading comic book shop in Australia.

@Xypha - Thanks so much! This is good. I hope #3 and 4 do well, too.

Best,
centurion.

@Centurion - Hello! While there isn't any big news about Psylocke today, CBR's Cup'o'Joe talked a little about the X-Men this week and showed three preview pages from Northstar's story in Nation X #2 (the mini series, not Fraction's current arc in Uncanny X-Men). And guess what, Psylocke appears in the third page fighting a monster alongside Colossus!

She seems to be attacking it with some kind of telekinetic club; the pages are in this link: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=24028

@FSaker - Good to hear from you, my friend. I will take a look at the links, thank you!

Very Best,

You're welcome!

This first issue of the Nation X mini also shows a story with Nightcrawler and Wolverine, and Mr. Hellfire showed in his blog that during the story, they play a game where one gives the other two choices and the other must choose one; Logan asks Kurt to choose between Domino and Psylocke, and Kurt replies by asking Logan to choose between British Betsy and Asian Betsy! Cool, huh?

I don't think Betsy will get a solo story in this mini (but that's okay because she already has her own mini), but I think Dazzler could get a solo story with Betsy co-starring in it. If there is any X-character nowadays who desperately needs some spotlight and some development, this character is Dazzler...

@FSaker - Yes, that is indeed cool! Something tells me Logan will choose Asian Betsy :) He has a thing for Asian women, and I think he may have had hidden romantic feelings for Betsy for years ;)

That's so true. I don't remember Dazzler having any serious development since the late 80s. I might be wrong, but it has certainly been years since Dazzler had any strong involvement in an X-related plot. I like the fact that Dazzler is becoming a close friend of Betsy's in the Earth 616 Universe.

Best,
centurion

Theres just so many characters that deserve spotlight at the moment, i know everyone has their own favourites but they should try and divide the core teams of the 3 x-books, no doubles on any team.

Uncanny is definitely overcrowded, though I would like to see Betsy, Emma, Cyclops, Northstar, Wolverine, and Colossus comprise the main team on Uncanny.
