A Psychic Staff??

Um, NO. Seriously? Tim Fish never needs to illustrate another X-book again. EVER. That art is too cartoonish for words, so I will say no more.

@The Ice King - I agree.

I disagree. Obviously his art wouldn't fit for a regular X-Book, but the Nation X stories are supposed to be light-hearted and fun, and his style is very good at it.

wow theres hope for me as a penciler yet

This people...ARE MY FAV TREE X- GUYS EVER !! Betsy, Peter & Jean Paul !! N__N

Love his style, very 60's!
It does make a nice change from Greg Land's art. His psylocke looks great, more sophisticated, and the bowstaff is actually a good idea to show the versatily of her power. ^^

I don´t understand! she can generate a tk weapon? someone know what powers did she have know? when she return to the x-men she said that she´s Tk above all, with some tlpath powers... but we mostly see her using telepathy. psylocke is my fav character, but is frustrating not understanding her power. hate this draws.

you can thank the wonderful matt fraction for that. first a telepath then a teke then both only with hardly any power in either. i hate fraction's hard on for Emma randomly making her "OMEGA LEVEL" and poor psylocke (the more respectable and reliable mutant) gets no respect by these writers. they can't handle more than one great telepath. i like her having both but hate how everytime she's resurrected they try to give her a different powerset.

What's there not to understand? She has TK and TP, but she prefers to use the psy-knife. Period.

And Emma is not a Omega-Level Mutant. Fraction classified her as an "Omega-Class Telepath" which is something very different.

I believe it's still supposed to be her psyknife/sword it's just how the penciler renders it. Most of his work his usually blocky or pointed.

OMEGA LEVEL TELEPATH* same thing if she has telepathic powers that suddenly got a huge boost because she's the star of uncanny now.

Omega-CLASS-Telepath*

"Omega-Class Telepath" can simply mean that Emma is one of the most powerful telepaths in the Marvel Universe (which we all knew already). I'm just glad that they haven't tried to make her omnipotent...

I still don't buy Emma has that powerful. It's always been said that Emma had a lot of skill and tricks with the telepathy that she did possess but she's no where near Omega. It allowed her to beat Rachel, who's been Omega for years. I like Emma has a tricky, skill refined telepath over a power house. I would expect Betsy's original TP to be stronger than Emma's.

I truly hope that veteran x-man Psylocke gets her own short story in this nation X arc because if that Alpha Flight reject North Star can she should too.

"Alpha Flight reject"? Really?

Yeah, Psylocke has her own mini, she's been featured in Uncanny, and soon she'll be in Legacy. She never gets any panel time...

Northstar hasn't had much of anything to do since being introduced as a member of the team. The least he deserves is a story in an anthology.

@ Anonymous 2:01 AM - Northstar is NOT a ¨reject¨ of any kind, he is a character that deserves respect for being a unique kind of character that can bring so much to the table so please... don´t be such a hater.

Yeah, I agree with Mike and alejo... Northstar is a nice character, and one that hasn't been receiving much attention in any title X-lately. He needed a Nation X short story more than Betsy, who's actually among the most highlighted X-Men nowadays (technically she's having a greater role in Uncanny than Wolverine; the problem is that Scott and Emma get so much more attention than everyone else that we just don't get enough).

I don't know if Psylocke will get a solo story in this mini, but if Marvel wants to show the least highlighted mutants in this mini, Dazzler should definitely get a story. And if Dazzler gets her own story, we know that her current BFF Betsy will definitely get a good panel time in it!

Plus, in the next months we'll be seeing her teaming up with Nightcrawler, Colossus, Rogue and Husk in Legacy (and Carey will probably give her more lines and action scenes than Fraction is giving her in Uncanny), teaming up with Logan and FANTOMEX (the best Morrison character EVER) in Uncanny, and starring the two later issues of her own mini series! Really, how cool is that?

(but sure, it will be great if besides all that, she also gets her own Nation X story! I just don't think she needs it that badly as characters like Dazzler and Northstar need).

I agree! I think Northstar has been hugely overlooked. Aside from being Marvel's most prominent gay superhero, I think he's really awesome. While Fish's artwork may not suit a regular X-book, it is very appropriate here.

And will we finally see Northstar kiss another man for crying out loud? Some of us have been waiting on that for decades.

Dr. Doom said...

I agree. IMO, Northstar, Dazzler and Nightcrawler are the ones who deserve the most a story in Nation X, HOWEVER if Psylocke is to get a Nation X story, I'd like it for it to be a hear-to-heart talk between her and Warren. I think it would be nice to have them talking about everything they've been through since they broke up and still be good friends.

Ive never seen the attraction with Northstar, hes always come across as this token gay please accept me kind of character. To me he needs more than his sexuality to define him, atleast when he had feelings for Bobby he was atleast doing something interesting. I find Bisexual Daken such a more interesting character because hes not trying to be all nicey nice hes just a badass who also likes dudes.

God knows whats going on with Dazzler, i remember her being such a fiery ineresting character during Australia all she seems to do nowadays is be just another cute blonde. That Ariel character with her ott lady gaga type persona seems closer to Dazzler than Dazzler. Then we have Dagger being way too simiar too.

Still sayin they need to divide the teams into the 3 main titles so everyone gets good exposure and panel time, none of this Cyclops, Emma and Wolverine permenatley in every book.

Two words: Archie Comics.

Ooh, I like Dr. Doom's idea! And to make things more interesting, put Husk in the story too, so that Warren could talk to both women he loved in the past, decide whether he wants to be with either one of them (and of course, if either of THEM wants to be with him), and let the three of them be fine with each other, so that another future X-writer won't have the bad idea to create another dramatic love triangle.

And I agree with SoulTapestry that Tim Fish's art reminds me of Archie Comics. But since I LOVE Archie Comics, I loved this kind of art as well!
