“Other than the occasional line here and there, I haven’t written most of the characters in the Astonishing X-Men lineup before – for me, that’s a fantastic challenge,” shares Soule. “It’s been fun to get into their heads and think about what they all might have going on at this point in their lives. That said, the series is designed as a fresh starting point, so anyone jumping in with [ASTONISHING X-MEN #1] will get everything they need there to follow the story – even if it’s your first X-story.
“The book is designed to tell a very focused, specific story, with a few cool main villains,I’m writing it like a puzzle box, with new layers and reveals opening up every issue. So, you’ll never know exactly where it’s going to go next – but the structure is built in such a way that almost anything from the long, incredible history of the X-Men can pop up. It'd be nice if it were true, but so very doubtful.
I just don't want them to rehash old relationships and actually progress character development. And with that said, BETSY AND WARREN 4-Ever! But seriously, serious, time to move on.

OMG that writer? Does that mean hes going to screw our beloved mutants in a horrendous story were Marvel keeps destroying them? Please no more mutant slaughter !!!
I'm not familiar with Charles Soule but if IvX is any indication, this is gonna be as painful as Humphries' UXF run.
I would have much preferred nuanced characters like Moonstar, Dr. Reyes, Prodigy and Cypher over Big Guns, Bishop and Fantomex!! 😡 And while I like Logan, he is already starring in what... 2 or 3 other titles?? And I'd definitely prefer a retrograded British Betsy (with left over martial arts skills and life lessons intact) over Ninja-Locke and her swords and psychic weaponry. 😡
I kinda hate this harkening back to the 90s wheb the X-Men started to go to shit due to Marvel's greed.
