When: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Where: Room 6DE
The 411: The streets have erupted in violence and the safe haven mutants thought they'd found is in turmoil. The Dark Avengers have put Daken in Wolverine's place, and there's an all-out war tearing through space and time with a certain red-haired green-eyed girl at the center of it. You've got questions & these people have answers! X-Men group Editor Axel Alonso is joined by a host of creators to lay out what's going on and resurrect a beloved... - well, that would be telling! You need to hear it for yourself! Panelists include Matt Fraction (Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men: Utopia), Craig Kyle & Chris Yost (X-Force), Marjorie Liu (Dark Wolverine), Daniel Way (Deadpool), Jason Aaron (Wolverine: Weapon X) and more for this all-new, all-deadly panel!

They'll probably talk about the future of the X-Books after Utopia is over and what's the new status quo for our merry mutants. Who's going to be resurrected? Kitty, Jean, Banshee? Plus, lots and lots of exclusive artwork. Maybe we'll catch a glimpse of Betsy.

Sunday, July 26
What: The Next Generation of Marvel Video Games Panel
When: 12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
Where: Room 6A
The 411: "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2," "Super Hero Squad" and "Iron Man 2." Join us for trailer previews, discussion and Q&A on the next wave of Marvel Games from publishers Activision, THQ and SEGA. Writers Matt Fraction , Mark Hoffmeier and Evan Skolnick will be on hand along with the game developers Kyle Brink, Robert Blackadder, Dan Tanguay and TQ Jefferson to discuss views on how story and design can come together to make licensed games that don't suck.

Remember when a Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 producer said she got her favorite character to be in the game? And that said character would be revealed at the San Diego Comic Con? And that Psylocke was one of her favorites? Well, this is it. We'll finally found out if Betsy made it into the game or not. :D

I would definitely love it if it were Psylocke but something tells me the character is going to be Gambit. Check this link... http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=951211&topic=50377935

Let's hope this new Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 character is Psylocke, even though she didn't take part in the Secret War and Civil War sagas at all (the game is based in these two sagas, isn't it?).

As for who will be ressurrected, well, Kitty didn't actually die (she's stuck in a giant bullet, but the last time we saw her, she was still alive) and I don't think Banshee is popular enough to get a ressurrection. So if Marvel will discuss the third Messiah saga, I guess Jean would be the most likely candidate.

i rally hope shes in mua2, i loved her in x-men legends : )

I hope Betsy is in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, not just a cameo, but as a playable character. THAT would be a dream come true. Psylocke could be in the Marvel Super Heroes's Squad game for the kids ;) Marvel did make a super heroes' squad figure of her.

centurion said...

Yes, anonymous, I think the character is Gambit, too.

I don't know how reliable wikipedia is, but here is a link to the article with the characters likely to appear in the game:

Some surprises would be nice :)

Really, Centurion?? Betsy has a Marvel Super Heroes' squad figure?? Wow! That's great!

Please, is there a link where we can see it? I don't remember CmX or LuckyStar posting this around here (but I may be wrong, of course)...

I wont hold my breath that she will be included, shes not an A-list X-men let alone A-list marvel super hero.

There are mods for the PC versions of X-men legends 2 and Marvel Ultimate alliance that can add her into the game along with a ton of her costumes. You can add loads of other characters too like White Queen, Sage, Shadow King and Mandarin...

Sure, Fsaker. Just for you, my friend. She comes in a dual package with Wolverine. I will post an amazon.com link below. I bought one a year ago :) The illustration on the packaging of Betsy is cute :)

centurion said...

Is it a coincidence that she is paired with Wolverine?

centurion said...

Fsaker, there are also auctions and buy it now offers for the Marvel Super Heroes Squad Psylocke on ebay.

FSaker said...

Thank you, my friend!

Betsy looks great! And if she is in the toy line, I don't see why she couldn't be in the videogame as well...

Regarding her being an A-list x-woman, Marvel has given her a lot of attention this year, by putting her back in Uncanny X-Men, selecting her to be among the heroes in the sides of the 70th birthday variant covers, and even allowing a miniseries of her own, so it seems Marvel DOES want her to be an A-list character, even if she's still reaching this status.

centurion said...

You're welcome. Yes, Fsaker. I think she is reverting to that A-List status that she had throughout the 90s, but it will take some time to reach that status again. I always believed that she should have been represented more in the various animated series of the past. Her popularity in the comic books and videogames of the 90s and early 2000s never seemed to correlate well with her lack of representation in the animated shows. She was entirely neglected in X-Men Evolution, except for that facsimile Risty character that seemed to be a Psylocke inspired character (Cruel joke to us Psylocke fans, maybe)

She had several cameo appearances in the 90s series, and had one appearance in Wolverine in the X-Men. I am hoping that Psylocke is utilized in this Marvel Super Heroes Squad game.

Still no Psylocke in X-Men Forever. It's good, but if it had Forge, Colossus, Jubilee and Betsy, it would be even better.

hmmm i think that when that producer said she got one of her favourite characters in the game she was taking about gambit, look he's on the box art. : (

centurion said...

Psychilde, unfortunately, I think you are right...

Also all the jean queens seem to have gotten their wish after spamming the Official M:UA forums. Psylocke has been getting a rough deal since Xm1!

I agree. I think she was talking about Gambit too. :/ That said, I'm really glad Jean's been confirmed in MUA2. Love her.

centurion said...

Yeah... I am certain it is Gambit. I like Gambit, but would have preferred Betsy. Even if Betsy isn't in the game, she could be included in a DLC for the 360 and PS3 versions of the game, assuming a DLC is made.

I love Psylocke but I won't mind if she's not in the game. If she is, I REALLY hope she has a new outfit or looks different than the typical blue ninja look. I'm not a fan of that look. I'd love it if they enabled her telepathy powers in the game and made her look beautiful. XML & UA all looked really cheap like The Sims 1 graphics. This one is supposed to look great so I doubt they'll be able to mod it so much like the old one. If she's a playable character I really hope they have an alternate Revanche or English Psylocke body to play. Something different, you know?

centurion said...

X-Men Legends II for the PC was modded quite well. Once you master the procedure for placing new, modded characters into the game, it is easy and rewarding. I have Psylocke on my X-Men Legends II PC team with all of her X-Men Legends I voiceovers and several outfits. I wonder if the modders at marvelmods have produced a New Exiles version of Psylocke's outfit? A talented group of modders is at www.marvelmods.com. There are several die hard Psylocke fans over there, too.

The producer say gambit is her favorite too, and gambit was reveld. So, I think not this time, again...

centurion said...

Yep, it is Gambit. I can understand Psylocke's absence from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, but if she was AWOL on a future X-Men Legends III, then THAT would be very disappointing...

X-men legends III?? really??
