X-Solicits for January 2014

X-Men #9
Writer: Brian Wood
Art and Cover by: Terry Dodson
Muertas Part 3!
• Lady Deathstrike’s new Sisterhood set their sights on the X-Men, and Psylocke is in the crosshairs!
• A foe awakens... and neither team might be able to handle her!

Uncanny X-Force #16 & 17
Writer: Sam Humphries
Art by: Harvey Tolibao
Covers by: Ramon Perez
“Vendetta” – A Four Part X-Force Event!
Issue #16 - “Vendetta” Part II
Issue #17 - “Vendetta” Part IV
• Classic X-Force villain Stryfe has returned! And he’s eager to exact his revenge on the man who left him broken and adrift in the timestream: Cable.
• As Stryfe’s plan comes to bear, Hope is brought face-to-face with Bishop, the man who crusaded across centuries in a mission to exterminate her. But this time around, she’s ready to retaliate... and they’ll hold nothing back as they race to destroy one another.
• Don’t miss this no-holds-barred, knockdown, drag-out X-Force event! Because when the dust settles, only one X-Force team will be left standing...

Cool solicitations. So the X-Men (or X-Women) and the Sisterhood will have to team up against a common foe? Interesting. But this cover... I usually like Dodson's art, but Psylocke's feet are positioned kinda clumsy, and I can't recognize any of the Sisterhood women (except for Mexican Lady Deathstrike, whoever she is).

Vendetta... from its solicitation, it seems that one of the X-Force teams won't be around when the crossover is finished. Do you think UXF will be cancelled? Will the two X-Forces merge? Or maybe this is a misleading solicitation...

By the way, it seems that in January there will be a miniseries named Revolutionary War, featuring British superheroes. Unfortunately, it seems Psylocke won't be in it, but Black Knight and Spitfire won't be in it either, so it's not like she was the only one forgotten. Still, it would be cool to see her interacting with other prominent British superheroes.

Yeah, I'm betting UXF gets cancelled... unless they cancel Cable XForce and start a new Cable ongoing to replace it. Either way the sales for UXF are higher than Cable's.

They won't cancel UXF, Humphries was talking about revisitting Psylocke's past in a new arc he's developing on his tumblr just the other way. Misleading solicit, as usual.

Looks like Typhoid Mary, Lady Deathstrike and the Enchantress in the Sisterhood. Kinda excited for this

I haven't read UFX in a while, might pick it back up when the Revenant war starts when Vendetta starts

Yeah, I thought it would be strange to cancel UXF and keep CAXF, considering Psylocke's X-Force book sells more than Cable's X-Force book (although CAXF's sales aren't bad either). But there is the possibility that both books will merge (maybe with Hopeless writing an arc, then Humphries writing other, and so on), bringing the backgrounds of both into it. Well, when Marvel reveals the solicitations for February 2014, we'll know.

As for the Sisterhood... Enchantress? But she isn't a mutant... although Lady Deathstrike isn't a mutant either, so I guess Amora's inclusion is cool. Anyway, I wonder if this Lady Deathstrike is Yuriko Oyama or someone else. I mean, why would she be trying to look Mexican? It's okay if she doesn't want to wear Japanese make-up just because she's Japanese, but to wear a Día de los Muertos make-up makes no sense...

Well Dia de los Muertos is a festival all about honoring the dead. Lady Deathstrike has death in her name, it just seems like a creative direction to take for her new look. I hope they don't change the woman behind the cyborg, keep the diversity as it is!
As for UXF, I'm really getting into it now and I don't want to see it go! It offers us a way of seeing Storm and Psylocke that we don't get in any other series, they have more of an edge here! Also, I like Spiral and don't want to see this team go!

Question: Do Longshot and his X-Friends realize that Spiral is Rita? Does Longshot still not recall his past life and love with Rita?

Why is Puck in the Uncanny X-Force?
I haven't seen any reason yet...

oooh what would be interesting is forge and storm - they were very much in love at one time!

You know, if both X-Forces merge after this crossover and Psylocke remains in the team (or if they don't merge and UXF doesn't get cancelled), the next match-up the team should have would be against the Thunderbolts.

Psylocke vs. Elektra FTW!!!
