Uncanny X-Force #4 Spoilers

Spoilers: Issue starts with Spiral still trying to escape Bishop. Meanwhile, Psylocke continues to fight the Demon Bear now inside Bishop's psyche on the Astral Plane. During Psylocke's battle a white owl warps the Demon Bear away and warns Psylocke that they are fighting the wrong enemy and that another psychic is who they should be after. Psylocke is then ejected from the astral plane and back to reality with Storm and Puck. Spiral can't run any longer and decides to fight back against Bishop. Fantomex and Cluster watch from a far, and Dark Fantomex ambushes both of them. Bishop defeats Spiral and grabs Ginny and a giant Owl avatar emerges from Bishop and into Ginny. Ginny then vanishes while Storm and Puck defeat Bishop. Spiral gives up now that Ginny is seemingly gone. Psylocke confronts Spiral and tells her to pick up her sword and fight her. Spiral defeated, physically and emotionally, doesn't fight back. Psylocke reflects and leaves Spiral to herself. Storm comforts Psylocke and tells her she still loves her regardless of the bad choices she has made recently. Wolverine takes notice of their activity via internet and is taken by surprise. Ginny then reappears elsewhere with a group of people all possessed by the evil entity that was previously possessing Bishop.

Another inconsequential issue it seems ?

Ugh, this issue was garbage.

So rubbish... This stupid owl ginny story is retarded

So is the art! And the composition of panels. They re slowly destroying all the good Remender did!

Ok, I previously defended the slow start to this series, but I'm over it. I still like Humphries style... his Psylocke is tough, mean, and confident, but there's no story! It seems like in the creative team's eagerness to give Betsy the spotlight, they forgot to give her something more critical... a plot.

Each issue so far can be read in under 5mins. For 3.99 that's so lame.

After four issues, I have no feelings for any of the characters. None of them have any depth, including Storm and Psylocke: they are all reduced to caricatures. Ginny is gross, Spiral is a homeless person turned single mom, Puck is still a joke/clown (although the most likable so far by the slightest margin), Bishop is a zombie, Storm seems to have lost some IQ points, and Psylocke has a combination of 'roid rage and PMS. Who is worse so far, Humphries or Lobdell?

Actually Lobdell is still worse. There's an interview where he proudly admitted that he wanted Psylocke dead.

Hm the evolution seems really weak...
Maybe the revelation of this Owl-entity and the mistery involving Ginny may render some nice stuff..but yes, it is being badly delivered and taking too long....

You all should let Humphries know how you feel on twitter and tumblr. He is very receptive. Don't be mean, but express your concerns in a polite way if you do. :)

To be fair Humphries does have some big shoes to fill. RR's run was some of the best writing in any X-books since the glory days of Claremont. So it's bound to take some time before he finds his groove. Right now it's pretty decent but not great.

And plese don't compare Sam to that awful hack Lobdell.

I'm not assessing this comparatively against Remender's run, I'm assessing this based on whether I enjoyed it as a standalone book that I paid 3.99 for - and I don't. This issue was probably the worst comic I've bought in a long time, and it pissed me off by the time I finished reading it. A couple more issues like this and I probably will drop it. Wood seems to be a solid writer so I look forward to that one.

I read it.... Took maybe 3 total minutes.. NOT worth 3.99$

Best things about the book.
1)The cast is good and has potential.
2) Alphona's art..A MAZING!
3) Psylocke using a sword not related to ancient or Meji era Japan.
4) the costumes.

Worst thing about this book.
1) This is not the Psylocke I love.. period. She's a new character Named Elizabeth Braddock, with tangential connections to Psylocke.
2) Storm has not shown much growing in six months time, This is the Storm I love, but she's still mother hen, not I kicked nearly every leader's ass i've ever faced, Storm!
3) Rushed
4) HORRIBLE dialogue!
5) SPIRAL IS NOT A NINJA! Not everybody is a bloomin Bloody noddy Ninja!. Sword does not mean ninja!
6) Price.
7) Bishops return.. can be summed up as ROOOAWRRRW! >.>
8) too many things to name.

Until a new writer joins, i'm done. Waiting for woods coipel!
