Uncanny X-Men #508 Spoilers

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!
DON'T READ IF YOU WANT TO BE SURPRISED!

The Sisterhood recruits Lady Mastermind, and the Red Queen assures that their plans begin that night in Tokyo. Domino visits a graveyard that Wolverine keeps in Tokyo for friends and loved ones, and she bumps into Spiral, Lady Deathstrike and Chimera stealing a coffin. They fight, and Domino is able to stab Chimera with a sword. Spiral says the "vessel is acquired", so the three women walk through a portal and disappear. Domino freaks out and calls Logan, saying that they stole the body of Kwannon! Meanwhile at the Graymalkin Industries, Beast introduces Dr. Kavita Rao as the new member of the X-Club, and the Science Team begins to discuss about undoing M-Day. In San Francisco, the Red Queen heals Chimera and orders the other girls to take their places around the "vessel", so the ritual can begin. She says the "vessel" (Kwannon's dead body) is ready to be filled with a live girl: Psylocke, who was kidnapped by the Siterhood! At the X-Men Headquarters, Nightcrawler talks Emma Frost into teaching the Russian girls, who are now living with them, when a wave of pain affects all the psychics around - Emma, The Cuckoos, Karma and Empath. The Cuckoos say there was a massive psychic event somewhere. Meanwhile, Wolverine recruits Northstar and Aurora to the X-Men. The Red Queen and the girls begin to perform the ritual: they transfer Psylocke's mind to her original British body! Betsy wakes up and asks where she is, and the Red Queen tells her: "You're home". To be continued...

Just got the issue, there is a chance that the "live girl" is a cosplay girl, and not Betsy. We did not see the face of the girl in the old Pyslocke costume.

That'd be confusing. lol But you're right, the issue left a lot to be answered. I understood that it was the real Psylocke, and the Sisterhood transfered her mind to her original body. What about you?

Wow, lots of things happening in a single issue... is it a good or a bad thing?

I read at CBR that some readers think the Sisterhood actually killed Betsy to revive Revanche, instead of transfering her mind/soul to the British corpse... I hope it's not true; Betsy has just came back, she can't die now!!

Anyway, is it explained how and why she came back to Earth-616?

They're just fooling around. LOL I thought it was pretty clear the Sisterhood returned Betsy's mind to her original body.

No, they don't explain how they kidnapped her. They just refer to her as her prisoner. And Betsy is wearing her Ninja bathing suit, not her Exiles costume!

I know it would make it confusing, but the issue did start out featuring those cosplay kids, and the Red queen did say "in your new body".

What an amazing issue! Not only did Psylocke come back, but Northstar as well, with a boyfriend!

The cosplay idea is interesting, it's still too early to tell. The Red Queen's missive about the "new body" could be a reference to how much work she did restoring the British body.

Spiral lends a lot of credibility to the theory that this is really Psylocke. As a dimensional traveler, she could probably track down and kidnap Psylocke, and she's done the exact same psychic surgery before.

As for the costume, it might have been an editorial choice. After all, that's how a lot of readers know and recognize her.

For that matter Spiral could pick up any version of Psylocke from any dimension, although after the exiles storyline they would probably be in short supply.

I wonder about the x-club cover where she is Asian again, I guess that means if it is Betsy, that the body transfer is not complete.

Although I like the theory that it's not Betsy and is someone else, they refer to her as the prisoner and her body as the vessel, they never once said her name. Perhaps they just need to re-animate the body so that they can control it, perhaps a dry run to do the same thing with Jean's body?

All I know is that Revanch seems out of the picture.

OMG I AM IN HEAVEN!! I have waited for Psylocke to be back in her British body for so long. It doesn't make sense that the future cover with Beast and Angel with Psylocke she seems to have an Asian face though. I am so glad they finally did this after all these long years. And the issue was even better including Northstar and how he has a boyfriend. SUCH A GOOD READ! A+ 5 stars haha.

Ooooh, Northstar's got a man? Who's the lucky dude? Shatterstar? Hehe - that'd be obnoxiously cute, they're both kinda high strung and pouty.

Has a power been set for Betsy? Is she gonna be a telepath again or staying a telekinetic, or maybe both, I like the idea of both...

Ah, I'm glad to know that this is Psylocke, after all! I was afraid with the "Psylocke is killed to revive Revanche" theory...

The #512 cover leaves the doubt whether this body swap (or body re-swap) will be definitive. Maybe she'll end up in Kwannon's body again. Or maybe Revanche will also come back to life and join the X-Club (no idea why she would do that, though).

Or the person who drew the #512 cover just didn't know about the body re-swap, or can't draw well a Western girl's facial features... but he seems to be a great artist overall.

To put her back in her original body, just to re-swap again a 3 issues later would be overkill. But this is Marvel, you never know. lol

Yeah, I agree luckystar, it would be overkill, and I'm hoping the body re-swap is more of a permanent thing!!!

Psylocke was a much more interesting character when she was british and hopefully she will go back to being the strategist she was before the whole Siege Perilous thing and the body swap.

Guys, as far as I know they revived Psylocke to be an 'untouchable' character, I mean, someone that cannot be manipulated by magic and telepathy. Besides that, after her ressuraction, she seems so much stronger that I believe i wouldn't be easy to defeat and capture her.

Well, I believe that this is not the original Psylocke the Sisterhood is dealing with.

I agree, I dont think her
face was hidden for nothing.

And there is this whole idea of the body being a "vessel". Didnt MF say that the Red Queen was back but not Madelyne Pryor? Perhaps her body was a vessel for something else as well.
