Spoilers: Three hours
from now: Wolverine holds somebody’s dead body. Kid Apocalypse tells him this
was the only way it could have ended.
Now:
X-Force returns to the present. Deathlok warns them about the Brotherhood
taking Evan to Genosha. Beast contacts Logan and blames X-Force if anything
happens to Evan. Meanwhile, Mystique and Sabretooth talk about their next move.
After Evan cracks and kills Logan, Mystique wants to use the boy to kill the
Shadow King for what he did to Destiny in the past. Daken and the Skinless Man
try to induce Evan to wear an Apocalypse suit and get revenge against everyone
who manipulated him. Sabretooth also manipulates Daken into hating Wolverine even
further. Psylocke mentally tricks Mystique and finds out the Brotherhood’s
plans for Evan. Logan is convinced Evan won’t crack, while Nightcrawler thinks
they should kill the boy. Psylocke doesn’t want to kill Evan either. She also
calls Wolverine out on his hypocrisy as he doesn’t want to kill Daken because
he is his son, while she had to kill her own brother and lover. In the midst of
it all, Deadpool goes by himself after Evan and is ready to kill him.

Oh, dear... that cover for the final issue of UXF didn't show clearly whose corpse Wolverine was holding, but the first page of this issue makes it quite clear that it IS Betsy (although we can't be 100% sure that she is dead in that page, instead of "just" severely wounded).
So the poor gal has three hours (and four UXF issues) of life, is it? Please, Logan, prevent this from happening! Do it and I promise I won't complain anymore about you appearing in a dozen Marvel books every month...
Really? I don't think it was quite clear it was Betsy. To me, the dead body was obviously Daken's. All that talk of Wolverine not wanting to kill Daken was quite the foreshadowing.
I haven't read the issue yet... but is there a possibility that Betsy turned Mystique into a meat puppet and that it's her who's dead in Logan's arms?
Looking at the cover of #34 I think it is Psylocke because you can clearly see the straps on her thighs.
I don't think those are straps. I think they're flame. You can see the fire going out past the leg if you look at a big image of the cover.
Wow, FSaker writes another "panic-button" post about Betsy dying... where are you seeing all these details that point to her death, man? Do you want her die? Every other comment that you post on this blog is about Psylocke dying next issue, or in 2 issues, or in the issue with an obscure figure that kinda looks like Psylocke's costume if you hold the comic at a 45 degree angle slightly facing away from direct sunlight.
I think it's pretty ambiguous and deliberately so. It COULD be her, but it COULD be Daken or even Mystique. Heck, I was discussing this issue with a friend and he told he me initially wasn't even sure it was Logan holding the body. I think that proves we're seeing what we want to see/are afraid of in this panel.
Also lets not forget that the event is a future event, even if its only a few hours away. That means it still might be prevented/happen differently etc...This has been shown before in comics with Betsy herself back in the Outback days, when she saw the X-men defeated and herself as a Reaver, thus sending them all through the Siege Perilous.
I want to find out who Logan is holding but I'm not about to panic too much until I see the event fully unfolded. I also want to see this arc over so I can reflect if I've enjoyed it or not as so far, for me personally it's been bumpy. I must say that last issue's focus on the Brotherhood now makes more sense and is more enjoyable for me with this issue's release.
The rational part of me tells me that Psylocke has died enough, so killing her again would be going down that Jean route, dying in wolverines arms and all that, seems kind of hokey for Remender. Plus he went to all the trouble of making her an Omega level telepath and putting her history in order, that's a lot of work to turn around and kill her.
But anything is possible, he will certainly want to end his run with some impact.
It wouldnt surprise me if KidA turns on Daken and Skinless man after what they did in this issue. They have been trying to manipulate him into turning against his friends, but they also have been messing with him really hard, It makes sense that he would get revenge once he has the upper hand.
I just hope that Betsy finishes ShadowKing once an for all, she really hasn't faced him down in a fair fight since she became an Omega. Maybe Mystique kills his body will Betsy and he are fighting in the psi-world.
I agree with rocketboy in that if she dies again then her dying all the time will effectively become a shtick and a joke. Just like with poor Jean.
@Ballista Fan - No, I don't want Betsy to die, I just expressed an opinion that the body Wolverine is holding looks very similar to her.
Do you disagree? Great, and in this case I really hope you're right. But instead of coming with this unnecessary aggressivity, either just ignore my comments if they bother you so much, or let's try to debate POLITELY, shall we?
I personally enjoy reading Fsaker's comments. They help build my own opinion for what may happen to Betsy next. Yes, I am always worried that Betsy will die too, mostly because of what Remender is putting her through in X-force... Obviously Fsaker doesn't want Psylocke to die, he has never said anything about WANTING her dead. He obviously loves the character, he's on a website dedicated to her for crying out loud!
I'm convinced that the body is Betsy because of the leg straps however, not convinced she is going to die like someone already mentioned why would they go to all the trouble to save her a couple of issues ago just to kill her again?
And I believe Remender is cleverer than that and has a twist or a plan up his sleeve.
But then again Betsy went to all the trouble to rescue Fantomex in Otherworld and he ended up dying again a couple of issue's later!
I'm starting to beleive the comments that it might be Daken, if only for what was said in the argument between Psylocke and Wolverine. She has gone into this with him and she has had all the losses, to the point where she does not want to kill anymore. Wolverine has not had a personal direct impact in any of the killing yet, at least I can't remember one.
It seems like everyone on the team has taken a loss of some kind. Angel died, Fantomex died, Psylocke lost her brother, angel and her remorse. Even deadpool is about to start the whole cycle again and pay a personal price for it
.
And Wolverine is already sticking up for Daken in the argument, which means he cares about him. That coupled with what Daken did to KidA this issue and fact that Wolverine has a giant slash on his face. It's starting to make sense that wolverine is the last member on the team that needs to feel the weight of his decisions.
