Repeating what I wrote in my previous post: this issue looks great; too bad Betsy doesn't appear in any of the first pages and she's not again listed among the X-Men in the first page (while even Dani Moonstar is - although it may indicate Dani's deal with Hela will have a big repercussion in the crossover).
Can't wait to see Betsy eviscerating Dark Beast with her TK katana!! And I hope she appears in more panels than the ones shown so far...
While in my opinion the crossover hasn't lived up to my expectations, I'm really looking forward to it, and I hope the X-Men stay in SF, it feels too soon to leave, they've just arrived!
Regarding Betts, I'm sure she's condemned to become another of Fractions background characters, deserving a caption every three-four issues and doing anything but look fabulous (kind of what Dazzler does every issue).
@Fsaker: Same here :) I'm looking for Betsy to have greater involvement in the next big X-event.
@Captainfur: Hi. I sincerely hope this is not the case with Betsy...
That's a very pessimistic view. Psylocke has done much more in Uncanny in 3 months than most of the rest of X-Men in more than a year. Nightcrawler, anyone? I've been told from a reliable source that Fraction indeed enjoys Psylocke. I can't wait for the new status quo.
Anonymous: Fraction certainly seems to enjoy Psylocke's character. She has always been popular among the X-Men, perhaps one of the top five X-Men girls. I would say let's be patient and see what Fraction, Yost, and Kyle have in store for Betsy in the coming months.
@captainfur - As the 3:55 Anonymous said, Betsy is actually getting some good attention in Uncanny X-Men. Okay, she didn't do much in Utopia so far; yet she played an important part by leading the X-Club to the Asteroid M (didn't it get sent into the Sun, BTW??), she's in one of the Nation X covers, and let's not forget she joined the X-Club in their time-travel, with a decent number of lines and even some fighting panels.
She may get less attention than Emma, Cyclops, Beast or Pixie, but she's definitely getting more attention than Nightcrawler, Storm, Northstar, Dazzler and everyone else...
@Fsaker. That last argument is well taken. I am not in the pessimistic group concerning Betsy's character development and her underrepresentation in major X related events. Let's give it some more time. Almost a year ago, few would have thought that Psylocke was getting her own miniseries written by Yost. I was certainly one of those. Who knows what other unannounced X titles are being written that will potentially give Betsy a greater role as a character?

@Centurion - Exactly! Just yesterday I read a brilliant post by LuckyStar in Psylocke's official topic at CBR X-Books forums. Someone complained how Betsy was being just another cameo queen, then she listed the things we've seen this year: Betsy finally back in the X-Men's main title, getting her own mini series, with potential appearances in Wolverine: Weapon X and in X-Men Legacy, being chosen as a playable character in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 game (not for all platforms, but it's still very nice)... Plus, Fraction has admitted that bringing her back wasn't his idea but he says he has big plans for her in the next issues.
This is probably one of Psylocke's best years in the Marvel Universe. Ever.
realmente ya me canse de ver que Psylocke solo aparezca en portadas!!! si solo la trajeron para adornar u_u entonces muy mal por ellos!!! ahora bien!!! estan re.posicionando su marca!!!!
i'm really tired of only watch her on the covers, if only they brought up her to be a cameo, then they're bad, but i think that they're re.positionating her as marc!!!1
@Fsaker - I admire Luckystar. Few can duel it out with her regarding Psylocke and prevail :) And those points are quite strong against Betsy being a cameo queen. I remember one of the producers for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 mentioned that her favorite character (thought to be either Gambit, Psylocke, or both) was included in the game. Now we have strong evidence that Betsy is in MUA2 Wii as a playable character. I hardly see that as a cameo! The re-release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is further evidence that she isn't a cameo queen :0) Furthermore, it could be effectively argued that Betsy's appearance in MUA was a cameo. A playable character has the opportunity to have a strong voiceover as well as appearances in cutscenes. Cameo... uh huh.
