I don't know if get very excited for seeing Betsy impaling Dark Beast with her katana, or if I get very frustrated to see that even after getting a new costume on UXM #514 she will still fight in Exodus wearing the ninja bathing suit... Time to get new clothes, eh Betsy?

But it's great to know she takes part in the final battle, and does so by hitting someone, instead of being defeated like Northstar and Dazzler seem to be.

BTW, poor Weapon Omega... first possessed, then arrested, then forced to become a hero, then drugged (affecting his conscience and personality, it seems), and now impaled and with good chances of dying. Such a pity; he could have become something better...

And Rogue should be the one kicking Moonstone's ass, not these other three women. Although I love Bling!

bah Betsy can take down Dark Beast easy.

I must say the action in this comic looks bloody brilliant!

Good to see Betsy sticking with her X-club buddies hopefully she's the one that free's Beast.

LOL. Even though it's not entirely fair combat (2, 3, sometimes 5 against 1), war isn't fair.

Long story short = the "Darks" get their @$$es handed to them!

Question: Is that supposed to be Husk or Mercury getting shot in the arm?

I'm assuming it's Husk since Mercury tends to be more fluid(y), but it throws me off since Anole is there.

Poor Anole, I don't think that's what he meant when he said he'd like to take Hawkeye's shaft. Um... yeah, that might get pulled, huh? My comment not Hawkeye's sha... Er.

Hey... I haven't mentioned how cute @PsySpears is in a while... Yeah, he is.

It's probably Mercury, because Fraction mentioned in an early interview that "Hawkeye" would fight the x-students, and Paige has been graduated for some time now... although Fraction also said "Hawkeye" would later fight Wolverine, and I don't think he'll be in good shape after fighting (or better saying, getting brutally beaten) by Archangel to fight Logan.

But I'd like to see Paige getting some panel time in Utopia.

Dazzler getting facepalmed made my day. The suspense for Betsy's new costume is killing me though!

The ninja bathing suit will probably be Psylocke's most recognizable and definitive uniform, but I am still looking forward to seeing the new Dodson design in the next issue of Uncanny. Psylocke may be more of a match for Dark Beast, but I am anxious to see what happens. Since war is often unpredictable and fortunes change quickly.

I took a careful second look and see Psylocke in the last image pane with what appears to be her katana. From that distance, I can't tell if it is actually a psychic katana or a metal one that is glowing purple due to a psychic aura emanating from Betsy.

FSaker said...

It's probably a telekinetic katana, Centurion. Betsy is not a murderer, she even spared the Exiles' Slaymaster once, before having no other option but to kill him. Dark Beast, although immoral, is way less threatening than Slaymaster, so I don't think she would attack him to kill.

But he'll certainly feel a lot of pain...

gotta love the kick in the face from nekra

Thanks, Fsaker. I think you are right here.

centurion said...

Oh, I didn't know that Dark Beast was immortal... Thanks again, Fsaker.

Ugh I hate the telekinetic katana, I was hoping it was gone for good. Oh well.

I was hoping the katana was gone for good, too... maybe it's just that artist that chose to use it instead of the (far superior) psyknife?

why are people excited to see the new costume? it won't last and we already saw it. it's just a long sleeved jumper with shorts. nothing special. and this preview is not good either for me because i don't know any of those newer mutants. this is not my x-men besides colossus and psylocke.

FSaker said...

I didn't say Dark Beast was immortal (yes, he can die), I said he was immoral, because he certainly has no respect to ethic boundaries.

If he were immortal, it would be more acceptable to see him defeating Dazzler and Northstar so easily. Since he's not, Betsy alone should have been more than enough to take him down.

oops :(

Fsaker, that's my mistake for misreading your post...

I hope Northstar's not down for the count. That would be lame.

in the old days that kind of strike with her knife would tell her all of Dark Beasts secrets, and give her control of his mind/body for a while. nowadays, despite the fact that it is a big old katanna, they will probably forget that she can do that. damn.

still, i'm awaiting her mini!
