*sigh* Buttfloss at its finest. At least Betsy's getting a series and the solicit sounds good!

And YAY for her being on the Uncanny cover (even if the art isn't super). Hope this means she will get panel time.

Also, Namor joining the X-Men? Interesting.

ugh cant wait to hear everyone bitch about this buttfloss cover...

Actually, I won't complain about Finch's Betsy-in-a-buttfloss cover. First, because Yost had already warned us that she would be wearing the Hand outfit in this mini. And second, because it looks so BLOODY AMAZING!! She's so gorgeous in it that I'll ignore that her bathing suit isn't covering her behind.

Now, Betsy wearing the Hand suit in the new Uncanny X-Men cover, now THAT bothers me. She was supposed to have a new suit, after all... And I wonder what she's doing in that cover; I mean, Scott, Emma, Namor and Magneto are all potential mutant leaders, but Betsy was never a mutant militant, nor she seems to care about leading the mutant race... (well, at least she IS in the cover)

Yes. The Hand outfit is her most iconic look, like it or not, so it makes sense for her to be drawn like that in order to promote sales. And whatever, SHE'S GETTING HER OWN MINI SERIES!!!

Needless to say, the Psylocke #1 cover seen on this blog is VERY captivating! "Psylocke #1" has a nice tone to it, right? I am so excited about Yost's new mini-series.

I don't really have a problem with the Hand/bathing suit uniform and Betsy's aesthetics as much as I do the other issues listed below. As we all know, the Hand outfit is Betsy's definitive outfit, and it is probably not going to change considerably in the foreseeable future. What I would like to see writers address in the new Psylocke mini-series are the following issues:

1. Betsy's character and personality. (This is open for discussion).

2.Re-establish Bets as a strong X-Woman (as they did in the 90s) and restore her first-rate status that is comparable to Emma Frost.

3. Resolve any issues not addressed in the Sword of the Braddock's regarding Betsy' departure from the Exiles.

4. Address in the mini-series Betsy's own feelings about being displaced from her birth body and placed into Kwannon's. I wonder if this somehow has caused Betsy to harbor feelings of vengenance or not toward Matsuo. How would any of us feel if we were displaced from our birth bodies and placed into another? I wonder what Bets deep feelings are about the body swap?

5. Clearly define Betsy's power set, whether it is telekinetic, telepathic, or some amalgamation of both.

Best,
centurion

P.S. Fsaker, you're right. That Psylocke Hand drawing is simply breathtaking!

It's really exciting to see her alongside movers and shakers like Cyclops, Emma, Namor and Magneto. It seems to me she's getting a real push in Uncanny as well as her own series.

i like that Greg Land actually made an effort to make her look asian on the uncanny x-men cover, but it still bothers me that his girl's boobs are always bigger than their heads.

Also, YAY Psylocke #1. I like her assymetrical leg bands.

she's on so many solicits.....i feel like a Wolverine fan.

and what was that around Betsy's eyes on the sketch from the last post by the artist drawing the Psylocke mini? looked like a psychic butterfly to me!

Anonymous #2. Yes, there is something attractive about the asymmetrical leg bands. I noticed that this is how Psylocke is depicted on the Marvel vs. Capcom 2video game as well.

Wow. Psylocke #1, that has a much better ring to it! i'm so excited, cant wait for it to come out! and i cant believe shes on the cover for uncanny, look at her up there with all the major players! i hope this means shes got a big role!

centurion said...

Yes, Psychilde, it resonates with Betsy's majesty :)

FSaker said...

Well, I prefer symmetrical arm bands and leg bands (like she wore in Exiles before she got the new uniform), but that's just me.

Now that Ultimate Betsy is dead, I think 616-Betsy should steal her outfit. Does anyone else like the idea? I mean, it wouldn't be far away from the 616 outfit since it is a bathing suit as well, but the color scheme is better and the white skirt would make her look sexier and classier and the same time, IMO...

I liked the Psylocke outfit from Wolverine and the X-Men's Episode 8. You have a great idea, Fsaker. It could be conceivably put into practice, depending on what the writers/artists want to do with Betsy.

I like the outfit she had in X-men Legends.

centurion said...

Yes, the X-Men Legends outfit was nice, too. It had that X-Team feel to it, and it made Psylocke feel like a legitimate memeber of the team, even though she appeared at the last few missions of the game. The voice actress that portrayed Psylocke in X-Men Legends I did a fine job with the character.

I loved Ultimate Betsy's initial look. The gothic style with the piercings and <3 the black eyes. But then she threw it all out the window and wore a girly mini-skirt:(
