She actually doesn’t look any more muscular than many of the times when Joe Madeira drew her in Kwannon’s body and the Hand thong. I do think all the X-Men women should have some degree of muscularity from their physical fitness regimes for the work that they do versus being skinny.
I think her lack of curves may have to do with the way the armor is drawn.
She still looks feminine to me here with her muscularity. I agree with your previous point about the images with her in the helmet from the last issue looking masculine.
Yeah I agree about Joe Mad. He gave her such a ripped physique especially when she had the Crimson Dawn lol but I love how he drew her butterfly and the psychic knife
@randy, I think most people in real life and characters in drawing look good with some muscle mass, so I never mind characters who are supposed to be at the peak of conditioning looking strong and fit. For instance, I love when Frenzy who is a very muscular character is still drawn that way without looking like the Juggernaut or She-Hulk. Like I like that she is clearly more muscular and taller than the other X-Women as many of these artists don’t differentiate character phenotypes much at all. My favorite depiction of her was in X-Men: Red and before that SWORD. She looked spectacular in those books.
JoeMad’s Psylocke sometimes was out here looking like she was doing multiple T-cycles back to back! Don’t get me wrong, she looked great, but when we talk about Bets looking leaner and muscular these days, his depiction was definitely the most brolic Bets ever. 😅
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

I don't get why its so hard to get her hair color correct lol.
In the first panel the flower in her hair is more the color her hair should be.
The 2nd pic it is a little better colored at least.
I forgot to mention, I do still like seeing the return of Betsy being depicted as intelligent and competent though.
Betsy is so muscular...
Yeah I hate this weird masculine fetish they're going for her.

Yeah, looking at quite a few of these JoeMad renderings, this is far from the first era we’ve seen her depicted as brolic.
