Wait, Doom is calling Betsy... "BETSY Braddock"? Not "Elizabeth Braddock" or "Ms. Braddock"? It's quite odd for him to address her by a nickname...
Oh well, anyway, the art looks amazing in these pages! And it's nice to see that she still has the Starlight Sword. Not that she needs it, and it doesn't seem to do anything that her telekinetic sword didn't already do, but still, it's a nice touch.
And do you guys remember when a single Fury almost killed Brian? Now here we have Betsy fighting a bunch of them and coming out of the battle unharmed.
Maybe she is the true Captain Britain, after all. Sorry, Brian.
Good point. Maybe down the road the Starlight Sword could be replaced again with the Amulet of Right?
I mean, one of the coolest things about the Captain Britain mythos is how the person has to choose between the sword or the amulet, reflecting their own desires (even though both choices turn the person into Captain Britain, as we've seen with both Brian and Kelsey Leigh). If the choice involves two swords rather than a sword and an amulet, well, that kinda defeats the whole purpose behind the choice.
(although I suspect that, if given the choice, Betsy would probably pick the Sword of Might instead of the Amulet of Right... she has always been a fighter, after all, so it would make more sense)
@Randy, while I dislike that Starlight Sword, I actually sometime miss when Betsy’s power signature and psi-self/butterfly were a glowy yellow and white. Do you recall what I mean in her early New Mutants and Uncanny X-Men days? Alan Davis and whoever colored those issues drew them so beautifully.
Yes! It was yellow which I get but its the Starburst motif in yellow that for me I associate with Captain Marvel that I just don't care for. I wouldn't mind a mixture of yellow and pink like have them sort of bleed together or something to give her a more unique psychic flare since she lost the butterfly.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

The Starlight sword is redundant and ugly as hell. At least color it pink.. the yellow gives me Captain Marvel vibes 🤮

FSaker, I vaguely recall some babies that Brian didn’t want at Braddock Manor and Betsy arguing with him about it. Were those baby furies?

Those were the warpies the babies that had been turned into mutants by the Jaspers Warp. I hope that helps

See told ya Betsy is Carolfied with captains and Starbucks star brands.
It's puke the star thingies driving Betsy away from the butterfly.
