So... is it the final issue? That sentence is ambiguous. And the fact that X-Force's solicitation mentions "the reveal of which will have major ramifications on the next issues of X-Force", and New Mutants' "plus the setup for the next big arc", it seems that maybe the X-books won't be cancelled as we assumed they would.
Then again, Excalibur's solicitation doesn't mention future issues, so maybe it will be cancelled even if the X-line as a whole isn't. If that's the case, I hope Betsy is relocated to another book, rather than being sent to editorial limbo to join Dazzler.
(and it's curious that the cover shows people like Rogue, Wisdom and even Trinary - who barely appeared in the first arc and completely vanished afterwards -, but not Apocalypse)
Did Kwannon HAVE to make the cover too? Ugh.. you'd think Brian or even Jamie would take her place in that group shot
where her loyalties lie...

Well, I guess she did have a bigger role in Excalibur than Trinary did (but yeah, Apocalypse, Brian and Jamie were all much more important in this run than she was).
I didnt even think of Apocalypse! He should have definitely made the cover before Kwannon

Its so cringe tumbler fanfic like im fully expecting Howard to cave to toxic comic twitt3r and pair them in the final issue. Why would anyone want them together? She not only has the hots for Brian she tried to seduce him during Swords of X.. wouldn't it be in bad taste for Betsy to hook up with someone who intended to destroy her twin brothers marriage and family?
But comic twitter literallt just wants everyone to have sex and the ones that aren't, in their heads, they're hooking up off panel. And Writers and editors pander to this garbage

I constantly see them blasting Howard with "omg when are they going to finally kiss???" 🙄 I would lose all respect for the character if she turned to the woman who again had actively attempted to seduce Brian her twin, who is happily married and the father of her only niece.
Agreed. Marvel comics read like straight up woke fanfic the last few years its all predictable and contrived. Then again maybe should stop pulling 'talent' from tumbler and twitter
I really liked that Kwannon made the cover , she really helped Betsy a lot on this run!
She did that is true, but she also helped Betsy with the irrational guilt in the first place as well lol.
Another Captain appears named Captain Krakoa. Could it be Brian? A worse fate would be a gender swapped Betsy taken into consideration Betsy has to choose between Krakoa and the Otherworld. Race swapped and now gender swapped seems too much for Betsy.
Excalibur is a mutant book in the dawn of x era. Monarch and Apocalypse were more likely to make the cut according to the mutant supremacy motto. Brian is only half human half Otherworldly. Again maybe this run is thought to be so bad that Apocalypse has to take steps away.
Time will tell of what happens to Betsy. Generally speaking I echo your sentiments.
One thing for sure is the Cap Krakoa outfit is hideous especially that helmet.

I wouldn't mind them hooking up (I guess Betsy maybe would be more forgiving towards Saturnyne flirting with a married man considering she did the same thing with Cyclops in the 1990s), but... has there been any indication at all that they would even be interested in each other? Judging from the pages shown in this blog and the spoiler descriptions, they barely act friendly towards each other.
It's actually funny that this is the second time readers see her being paired up with another woman (the first one was with Rachel in the Hellfire Gala, which I honestly considered nothing more than two friends without a pair dancing together to forget their problems), yet the only instance where I did see a sign of romantic/sexual interest was in her interactions with Pete Wisdom - and even those interactions are debatable.
As for Saturnyne, we often complain about Betsy's hair being colored lavender instead of purple, but it also bothers me how Saturnyne's hair is painted as a regular blonde in Excalibur when her hair is supposed to be white/silver (at least it looked that way in Davis's Captain Britain run)...
As if the kettle Betsy wears is fashion novelty. Both are hideous crap. Talk about the flowers in her hair.
