David Aja's Psylocke cover

CBR: Marvel is pleased to present your first look at superstar artist, David Aja’s stunning covers to 5 Ronin! Featuring Wolverine, Psylocke, Hulk, Deadpool and the Punisher, Marvel's deadliest heroes, these covers are a must have for any fan! Bound together by the same fate, yet alone in their existence, the Ronin are forced to walk the lonely path of the masterless samurai in the violent and tumultuous world of feudal Japan to find those who they have been wronged by.

"From the very beginning, I wanted to keep each cover down to two colors that identify with each of the five characters” explains artist, David Aja. “We set out to come up with a design that would grab your eyes from the shelves compared to the rest of the covers while keeping uniformity throughout the series and I think we accomplished that here."

Editor Sebastian Girner adds, “They clearly show the Marvel characters we know and love, but show them in a way that signals that readers are in for something a little different. Something special.”

Will the five find their revenge? What powerful secret connects these lone warriors? Find the answers to these questions and more as 5 RONIN hits comic shops everywhere this March.

Wow, this has to be one of Psylocke's best covers EVER! Delicate yet strong, feminine yet deadly. The subtlety of the colors, the butterflies...

I loved it!! I just hope that her rendition in the cover doesn't mean that Psylocke will be fighting topless...

I'll be picking up both covers if not the entire mini.

FSaker, considering there isn't nudity in Marvel comic books I'm pretty sure she won't be fighting or even appearing topless. It's an artistic beautiful way to show the rendition of her back tattoo.

That is truly a beautiful cover. Even if it wasn't Psylocke on it I'd love it, but the fact that it's her is brain-explodingly awesome. I love that my favorite comic character is finally getting noticed in a good way.

I'm happy Psylocke's association with butterflies hasn't been forgotten.

You're right, CmX, but remember that some years ago Claremont made her fight the Shi'ar Death Commandos wearing only a bath robe - and after the first half of the battle, she was standing topless (although with shadows strategically covering her body).

But I agree, her topless in this cover is perfectly justifiable to show her tattoo, and it's sexy but also tasteful. It doesn't objectify her. I love it!

Fsaker yes I remember, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. It's just a cover. You're reading too far into it.

Remember, the Mack cover of Psylocke has her fully covered in a Japanese Kimono.
