And it allows us to learn what Betsy's new uniform looks like. It's... quite nice, actually. At first it didn't look much like a Captain Britain uniform to me, but after looking again at it, now it does.
Now, could that cape actually be a cloak with a hood? THAT would be perfect for her, working as a nod to the hooded cloak she wore back in her Outback days.
I agree @Fsaker the cover is very nice. I'd love if she had the cloak again, I can't tell what color the cape is though. I'd love if she finally ditched the red and its purple or blueish now 😃
Still, as nice as the image looks, I'm not completely sure I love the image of Betsy riding on a Pegasus. I fear Tini is running a little wild with her D&D stuff now :(
Hopefully this book will surprise us all & Betsy won't be cut off from Krakoa for long.
@X-Man, it looks blueish to me. Which I think works perfectly for the Union Jack theme, contrasting the blue cape/cloak and sleeves with the red vest (and those white straps around her shoulders).
And yes, I hope she won't be cut off from Krakoa for long, too. Recently I read a book about Marvel and DC's rivalry throughout the decades, and one thing that caught my attention was how Marvel always tried to make its entire line feel like a single, cohesive world (while DC would prioritize autonomy and independence between each family of titles - the Super-family line, the Bat-family line, the GL Corps line etc.) This reflection makes me think that in Marvel, a superhero is only relevant if their actions are noticeable in other books (which explains why the Avengers are huge and the Guardians of the Galaxy are not when it comes to comics, despite both franchises having had massive films in the MCU) - in that sense, having Betsy completely isolated from ALL X-books may give Howard more autonomy to write what she wants, but it's also a terrible move if she really wants to make Betsy feel like a relevant heroine...
I agree @Fsaker. I hope this mutant saving mission really does reflect somehow in Krakoa.
Otherwise it looks like Betsy isn't as invested in Krakoa as the others.
I really do hope its blueish like the outback cape (or even purplish), but the other cover kinda looks like it could be red, so I'm not trying to get my hopes up lol.
To be fair, I forgot to add that Storm might also be isolated as well, but she's also on the council I believe and her world isn't in another dimension lol.
I'd love if they added Betsy to the council. I feel she's in an important enough position to be in one.
@Benjamin Hutton, I also noticed the sword. When we first saw the standard cover for KoX #1, the fact that the hilt wasn't made of psychic energy looked like it was a mistake - but with TWO covers, each of them drawn by a different artist, showing it that way, I wonder if maybe this is a plot point rather than a mistake...
Maybe this is meant to be some sort of magic sword she finds, which only has a hilt but whose blade is materialized from its wielder's essence or whatever - and since Betsy has psychic powers, somehow the hilt channels her powers to create the blade in a different way than Betsy's usual TK swords.
To be honest, I kinda like the idea. I don't think there are other Marvel characters with psychic powers AND MAGIC at the same time, so this could give her a unique powerset and help her to stand out among the other Krakoans with psychic powers. Such a shame that she won't even BE in Krakoa to show it off...
I think it's just lazy artist @Fsaker & @Benjamin. One of the covers for the upcoming Marauders has Kwannon with a similar psychic sword. A real hilt with a TK sword. Smh lol.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

Wow, this cover looks amazing!

Anyway, it's a beautiful cover.

Absolute improvement! No more clunky armor. Betsy is bringing sexy back.
Also looks like an alt Betsy is showing up in Captain Carter:

Snazzy vest ☑
Witchy sleeves ☑

Thigh high boots ☑
Dressed to impress at last!
I saw that, as a member of S.T.R.I.K.E. I believe :) Betsy may finally be getting some well deserved spotlight lol.
I do wish they made her hair more purple lol. It looks like her eyebrows are, but the hair on her head not as much haha.
Also her eyes should be either purple liked they are currently, or blue like her original ones. Not sure where they got green from lol.
Hopefully it'll be a good read.
The sword again.
Sigh-locke.
I love the armor, reminds me of the outback days.
Also, the Captain Carter Braddock will be a Variant version.
