Not really. What I like about Wisdom is he is more "human" than the xmen. He doesn't consider himself a super hero or wear costumes and he's normallt cynical about whats going on giving almost meta commentary. I personally love the character but nearly most readers hate him because they think he's an asshole but he brings great dynamic and contrast IMO
Well, he IS an asshole. But I do like him and his snarky sense of humor.
While I have many complaints about Tini Howard's Excalibur run, I like the way she's bringing Betsy and Wisdom together - especially because she isn't treating them like they're destined to each other, it's just a casual flirting (like most adults do), that may or may not end up with them having an affair... and that's it.
Not that I'd complain if they did become a couple; it's just that it's nice to see them taking things slowly, instead of suddenly deciding they're the love of each other's life (like other writers often do).
I really liked the conversation they had during the Exiles and Excalibur crossover. I would have preferred that over her banging AoA Sabretooth soon after that 😆
@Fsaker, exactly. That's the way she and Warren got together during the Revanche storyline's conclusion. I think her chemistry with Pete is way more interesting.
Also, I think she is irked by something else; not Pete. They both seem to be gazing elsewhere like something or someone caught their attention while they were dancing and in conversation.

Well, we know that the leaders of that Coven (I forgot their name) will attend the gala and there was even an unlettered page showing Betsy yelling at them while X and Emma watched, so maybe it's them that will cause this reaction on her.
Although I'm still hopeful that Saturnyne may attend the gala and Betsy will slap her or throw her drink on Saturnyne's dress.
Tbh the colorist sucks they constantly make bizarre errors in Excalibur. Firstly they colored Betsy costume wrong (now everyone thinks her collar is red and her gloves are that ugly medical glove color when they should be solid white) he also colors energy signatures very subtle like Jubilee fireworks look so boring how he colors them and Betsy sword and shield is just solid white its all just clean and boring.
That aside there's plenty of panels throughout the series where he's colored over someone's arm or leg and just made so many careless mistakes. I understand people need to make deadlines but irs just so sloppy in so many issues and its something editors COULD catch and have them correct (I mean it's just colored digitally hes not sitting there using actual physical art tool) so it's something that can easily be fixed but the editors are lazy and that trickles down
I'd have to agree. Marcus To is pretty fast, so deadlines aren't the issue here.
Look how beautiful this colorist makes To's art look: It's a Cassandra Cain story from DC released last month. https://twitter.com/SebastianArtist/status/1392847384107909120
I'll be checking for spoilers tomorrow. Done supporting Tinis book especially after that gross interview recently validating her poor characterization of Betsy.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

Wow, Pete Wisdom actually looks good!
And yay, the butterflies!
Is Pete Wisdom the British Gambit? I don't know him that well.
@Unknown
You could call him that depending on the writer, but he was basically Marvel trying to take a crack at John Constantine.

Betsy looks so thrilled lol. I prefer her with Warren, but I did like the dynamic she has with Pete.

I just noticed Betsy's red cross is miscolored blue. Ugh why do these books have 2, 3 editors? They don't do anything right.
Betsy adds another fire man in her fileofax. I forget the type of power Pete uses but I know Neal Shaara flamed on for Betsy.

I saw that! Makes me wish Excalibur had a better colorist
