The art looks very good in these pages! And it's nice to know that Betsy's outburst in the preview actually had a reasonable explanation (you may disagree with her point, but you can't say she doesn't have a point). Her hair also looks lavender in them (not the shade of purple we'd like, but not pink either, which is good).

And oh, Saturnyne... you sly person, you. She'd better hope Meggan never finds out about her trying to seduce Brian.

I find it impressive that history is written in the pages of Excalibur and the X-Men. Howard and Hickman are doing a thorough world building in and out of Otherworld. They give the impression something is amiss with the characters and places which might be exactly what they aim for. To tell a good story first you have to figure out the ending and climb up.

The death of elseworlds Jubilee felt shock value although it was done on purpose to show the madness and cruelty of Jamie as Monarch and ruler of Avalon. The argument between Betsy and Brian wasn't staged and worded perfectly. Betsy felt abandoned when Brian left the Lighthouse and her with the Amulet of Right but it wasn't mentioned in the birthright and sibling rivalry. Betsy took her rage on the Amulet and gave closure to the twins divide. The tone was a miss of why Betsy was mad at Brian. However it was hinted that the twins brawl was a feint to lead on Opal Luna Saturnyne in the trap to reveal the Starlight Sword.

"She would indeed lose more than she had planned for.".... WTF?

They wouldn't say that if they were killing her... I'm guessing it's bye bye Brian

Finally someone who is not only complaining and gets what the writers are going for

Even if you don't fully like the book, the art in Excalibur has been outstanding

Long time Betsy fan and reader of this blog. Just popped in to say how much I LOVED this issue and how excited (and scared) I am for what's to come.

How I miss Betsy's ninja skills... I personally prefer her being stealthy and lethal, than the whole british knight stuff

Haven't read it yet, but is this saying Betsy's out of character behavior at the beginning was a planned thing between her and Brian to trick Saturnyne?

One of Excalibur's best issues thus far. Im really starting to enjoy this crossover now.

Pretty rad. You can tell Howard put a lot of thought and planning into this book.

This explains the argument between the twins, but not Betsy’s overall lack of wit and humor and confident that we have come to know over the years. She acts more like a neophyte in Excalibur than she did when she first arrived at the X-Mansion and didn’t know whether she should be a New Mutant or X-Man. And I cannot fathom why since Tini first fell in love with the confident persona Remender wrote. You would think after all the events of that run, Astonishing, Cullen Bunn’s, and Mystery in Madripoor where she literally self-actualized that shr would display many of the insecurities she has now. And again where is the sardonic wit she has displayed since before the Siege Perilous?
