Still, not a fan of a lot of the changes done to Betsy but the way Tini is talking about this book is really getting me excited and I'm definitely going in with an open mind. Also, the art looks stunning with the colors added I'm glad Marvel put good artists on their Dawn of X books it will definitely add more to the stories they are telling and really give them that special touch.

What a waste of a great costume.

That costume actually looks pretty good here.
I was just starting to appreciate it.
Too bad it didn't have much of a longevity (pretty much like many X-men runs).

Betsy's costumes are all great. Colored her current Psylocke ranks first.

It's bad this costume didn't have much time. It's very underrated design. Not many artists have shown love to it.

Here to Brian continue showing up in Excalibur. Betsy's family is the weirdest in comics and I love how crazy they are. The writer has to make a great story out of them.

I don't know what role Apocalypse will have in Betsy's team. He looks the odd out of everyone. There must be a secret. I read Apocalypse, Xavier and Magneto will team up.

@Benjamin Hutton I fully agree the Asrar Psylocke costume was done filthy. Such a great design to be thrown away and never be used again just because the recent Uncanny X-Men run was atrocious. That doesn't have an impact on the Asrar design for Betsy.

Betsy's X-Tremists uniform was good in my opinion and doesn't have to be burdened by the awful writing of the X-Tremists mini and AOXM in general which was character assassination mainly for Nate Grey.

@randybear Since Tini Howard writes both Excalibur and Strikeforce I would love if Blade interacted with Betsy's team. Blade has a strong connection to Excalibur and Captain Britain I kind of wished he was on the team.

The most deserving a place in Excalibur is Nightcrawler. He is missed and the team needs a teleporter. Nightcrawler was wasted in Dawn of X and Excalibur is his second home. I'd love him having interactions with Betsy, Rogue, Jubilee and Gambit.

@Tobias Chatti I think the writer mentions she won't neglect Brian and Meggan in Excalibur. They will be key characters and support for Betsy.

In fact Jamie Braddock was recently another confirmed Omega level mutant by Hickman who received the code name Monarch. He will make Excalibur appearances for sure.

A weird change. I'm surprised with Marvel letting the writer to allow the former male Captain Britain make appearances. Usually the retired men get emasculated and rot in a corner of comic limbo.

But Brian Braddock is Betsy's twin brother so it wouldn't be chic to trash her twin half in effect trashing Betsy herself.

I hope she doesn't get the same hate she would get like Captain Marvel because that was downright brutal.

Kiki M. Ishola said...

@Atomic Ton I hope Marvel doesn't make Betsy a Mary Sue. All powerful and perfect so that to alienate readers. Because then Marvel will have to deconstruct Betsy and create her personal Dark Phoenix saga like they do with Carol Danvers in her umpteenth comic relaunch.

Tobias Chatti said...

Kiki there is zero chance for Betsy to become a Mary Sue. Betsy is the most human character in the Marvel universe and isn't selfish to seek power for personal gain. She wanted to become strong to protect humanity and people she loved. Betsy makes mistakes and isn't ashamed to admit them.
