Can we talk about the fact that Cluster obviously has a major crush on Betsy? Or about who stole the car for Betsy, Cluster or Fantomex?
Also, you gotta love the sudden Scott Pilgrim moment that she created there.
Oh, and am I the only one who has great hopes for a friendship between Betts and Puck?

I have to think that it was Cluster or Fantomex that stole the car for her, but maybe there is a suprise there.
I like the Scott Pilgrim moment too, it was totally unexpected.

The only only thing that is already getting old for me is the swearing thing. It was funny the first time Besty dropped the F-bomb about the Avengers, but I think the writer is way over-using that. And it makes sense that Spiral has a potty mouth, but it seems not quite right for Betsy some how. I like Betsy better when she has really smart one liners, it demonstrates her intelligence, swearing seems to demean her character a bit. Plus I think the writer and artist are doing a great job of showing that she is angry without resorting to that,

Does anyone find Betsy a bit TO angry and spiky.

Given what she's been through, who can blame her... Plus there's the 6 month gap where something happened to piss her off... Also, you didn't post the page with the "achievement unlocked"? FOR SHAME!!! :D

I like the idea of Cluster & the evil Fantomex liking Betsy but not necessarily the one who at least I thought she'd end up with. Also yay for Betsy listening to Sleigh Bells!

Mannnnnnn I'm trying really hard to like this book. So much awesome potential. This book is like an amazing Apple pie that was put together with thought, and flavor.. baked to perfection then dropped on the floor, on the way to the Windowsill. With some of the pie still edible. I want to see what Woods X-men book is gonna be like.

As much as I love Psylocke, I felt pretty let down by the issue. I know no two people will see eye to eye on it. But the writing doesn't feel like the ninja noir we were to get. Feels like Romancing the Stone instead of Indianna Jones. I'll stick with it for now. I'll wait until alphonas arc to make decision. It's readable but I want more.

@Tazirai - I agree. From Humphries's interviews, we can see that he really has good ideas for this book, but the execution of these ideas is failing to make the story interesting. The issues aren't bad, but aren't good either.

One good thing when Remender was writing UXF is that even though there was a huge story developing throughout 19 or more issues, he made each issue enjoyable by itself. The first arc of this new UXF may turn out to be good, but the individual issues aren't that good so far.

Just like you, though, I have faith that Humphries will eventually make the book more interesting. Let's hope so.

(as for Wood's X-Men book, all he needs to do to make it good is to keep conducting it the way he was conducting it before the Marvel NOW relaunch. I read a rumor that he may bring Cassandra Nova back as a villain; if Wood really does that, it will be awesome!!)

I'm loving this book. It's fun and crazy. Not that same old dark edgy angsty shit Remender was doing with UXF. It's a welcomed change. I love Humphries' Betsy. She's fun! Something that she hasn't been for a long time now. 5/5

I like this so much... even more than the beginning of remember run... I said it. I like this betsy. So much cocky. And on the edge. Keep up Sam. its so much light then the remember run, but very comics. I like the interaction between the characters. My only complain is Cluster. She´s so empty . lack of personality. But this is the beggining.

I'm really on board with this book too. I get where other people are coming from, in finding Betsy quite angry, but personally I see this as her releasing all the crap that has weighted her down for a while and she's letting rip.

It's almost reminiscent of 80s Betsy - where she REALLY wanted to be a warrior, but couldn't (look at the 'oh hey, lets kill Havok moment when he found the supposed to be dead X-men) and put it in the context of the fact she now IS a warrior. She can and will take names and after years of being on various receiving ends, its about time!
