X-Position: Kieron Gillen

CBR: In his final X-Position before moving on from the X-Universe to Marvel NOW!, Kieron Gillen answered a number of fan questions about his time with "Uncanny X-Men," including his favorite single issue, the aftermath of "Avengers Vs. X-Men," the exploration of the Marvel Universe in "Consequences," characters he hopes to bring in for "Young Avengers" and his opinions on fan fiction.

One of the gems of your series was the surprisingly amazing double act that was Magneto and Psylocke. I would never had put those character together. What was it about you those two together that interested you?

Kieron Gillen: That grew out of the secret of Tabula Rasa in "X-Force." Magneto was the only person to know about X-Force. So when they go into Tabula Rasa, it made a lot of sense to pair them together, and the rest of history.

As I've said before, Psylocke, Magneto and Storm really were the Greek chorus to the run. I was trying to get the three of them together in "Consequences" one last time, but it didn't quite line up. But there is one last dance of Storm and Magneto, which ties it off in a way that makes me smile.

I just love those three together. I'm really happy to know that psylocke & storm will be close friends now. I loved that scene from Uncanny x-men #13 were the three of them just sat in the dark & started talking. Does anyone know where magneto & the whole extinction team will be in marvel now? I know I've seen them in the third cover of all new x-men but I don't think they'll apper alot. I would love a book called "the extinction team" were Cyclops, Emma frost, magneto & magik r anti-heroes & they r wanted for thier crimes. They should be on the run but still acting like heroes.

Kieron Gillen is the first Uncanny X-Men writer in a LONG time that will actually be missed by the readers. He did a great job, even with the odds playing against him (the need to tie into Fear Itself soon after he replaced Matt Fraction, then the book was cancelled and relaunched to fit into the Regenesis era, only for ten issues later AvX begin).

Such a pity that Psylocke won't be featured in AvX:Consequences; I'd love to see her, Storm and Magneto interacting again.

As for the Extinction Team, it has been implied that Cyclops's team (that is, Emma Frost, Magneto, Magik and himself) will actually play a big role in All-New X-Men - and they won't be the bad guys, but defend a specific ideology that contradicts the one from Wolverine's team, while the original X-Men will be caught in the middle of all this.

Although I'm not sure if Bendis will do a good job in it (on the one hand, he did great series like Daredevil and Ultimate Spider-Man; on the other hand, his Avengers stories have been terrible since Civil War, except for the Dark Avengers series), All-New does seem promising if he manages to give everyone a nice share of panels. But it doesn't look like Betsy will be in it...

In another subject, Psylocke appears in some panels in A-Babies vs. X-Babies. Unfortunately she doesn't get any line, but she looks absolutely adorable! Plus, all her appearances have a good size (that is, we can clearly see her, she's not hidden in the background) and she even uses the psi-knives!

Do u this Sam, the new writer would write her the same way rick did, by giving her only telepathy? I think they should keep the TK as a second power, they should minimize it as a result of her focusing on her telepathy. But they should at least keep some levels of it focused on increasing her strength ,speed & physical blows.

Although I like the idea of Psylocke having short range TK to enhance her combat abilities I do not want to see her flying around.

I agree. Keep the TK low-key, if at all.

Yah, I don't like to see her flying, blasting, creating force fields & all. I like her increasing her strength, speed & agility, physical blows & creating TK katanas, but since the psychic knife is back, I prefer seeing her with real katanas.
