i hope she won't die actually, but i have to admit that these pages are absolutely stunning!

I agree. I hope she's not really dead, but if she is, at least this time she got a proper, emotional and impactful death scene. Unlike that lame death by Vargas's hands in Xtreme X-Men.

that's exactly what i've been thinking about, FSaker

I hope she gets resurrected in her real body!

@Adrian Sandoval - As much as I'd love to see her back in her real body, too, I doubt that it will happen. Marvel has repeatedly shown that they prefer Betsy in the Asian body, as they think she's more recognizable that way. Plus, many readers seem to prefer her as an Asian ninja as well.

After all the unfulfilled teases about her original body (Fraction's Sisterhood arc, Yost's Psylocke mini-series, Remender's Outworld arc), I hope a body swap won't even be addressed this time. Just hope Betsy will be brought back to life somehow (as much as I loved this death scene, I think her death should have a heavy impact on all the X-Men, not just on X-Force).

By the way, Remender's X-POSITION interview showed some pages of Betsy in a white dress, barefoot, with Warren in a beautiful landscape. Did this scene happen in this week's issue of Uncanny X-Force? Because if it didn't, it means the scene will still happen - and I don't see it happening with Betsy dead.

That sequence with Angel seems like an "after life" type deal... The scenery is so "heavenly".

I know, I was real upset at the end if the Sisterhoid arch >:-/ I was like "Why even bother". I still hold out hope that they'll fix her character.

I don't think there's no need to 'fix' her character.
She just need capable writers. And she's getting it now. In the hands of Remender, Gillen and Wood, Betsy has been written as good as(if not better than) her British days.

And I agree with FSaker, there's no need to 'revisit' the body swap thingy again. It's been done numerous of times and I'm sick of it. She's been written great and appears in more than most of her X-Men colleagues.
I couldn't be a happier Psylocke fans now.
Of course, I'll be happy if she doesn't die from the act of UXF #28. I believe her 'conversation with Warren' next issue will stop her from being dead. *cross fringers*

Adrian, i was really angry at the end of that hideous Sisterhood arc too. A hot mess! Then again, most of Fraction's arcs were.

And like you and Fsaker, I would FLove it if Bets returned to her proper body as a ninja and omega telepath... , but must also agree with metalgorgomon that she's never been written better than she's being portrayed now. Not even by Davis, Moore and Claremont way back when. Plus, it makes all us fans of British Bets really pissy when they tease a definitive return to her body just to let us down all over again. If they're not gonna do it for real, them just write her awesomely as she is. (I still must admit that i didn't mind her change when I thought it was her old body just cosmetically altered.)

Folks, chillax. She's not dead. Remender has better misdirection powers than Fantomex. ;-)

Asian Psylocke was the first "version" of her that I was introduced to. I became such a X-Men fan that I read older issues and loved British Psylocke so much more. She was creative with her psi powers and was more resourceful than she was as a ninja. Don't get me wrong, she being written in X-Force superbly, but I got real excited when her real body showred up again thanks to Jamie. She'd still retain her ninja skills and training in the proper body

I agree with Adrian. She's wonderful as a ninja and that is the incarnation I met first, but I think she gets terribly underrated by people who are not so used to the character, in terms of her British form. It was shown to be her deep desire in an X-men annual back in the 80s to be a formidable warrior, but her telepathic prowess was through the roof - I do love her as a warrior but I also wish she'd be used more as a psychic force to be reckoned with (and knock Emma right out of the pool). Heck, you don't even necessarily NEED to change her back to her English body for that, but I'd just like to see her return to her 'old tricks' more, if you know what I mean.

It's the 90s again. She's too ninja for her powers. Good characterisation by Remender but when talking about the entire body surgery/then swap/then reswap, Alan Davis said it best:
"I have no idea exactly why Betsy/Psylocke was changed. Her transformation into an oriental (No one at Marvel was ever able to give a definite ethnicity) Elektra clone removed any connection to her original incarnation so she may as well have been a totally new character. In Captain Britain, Betsy was established as the perhaps cliché British Lady heroine whose poise, frills and decorum hid a capable and dangerous ‘strong’ female— not unlike Purdey in the New Avengers TV series or Lady Penelope in Thunderbirds. Her costume and attitude in X-men was supposed to play to that conceit and to be a deliberately uncomfortable fit. Sadly, the idea of character diversity has been lost to homogenization and the notion all characters must be sexy or ‘kewl’. "
If anyone remembers, Davis drew her return from death back in the mid 400s of Uncanny years ago.

Anyway, back to this issue - looks interesting. I've missed a few issues so not sure what's led up to this but as always, great teasers & writeups on this site.

ARRRRRRGGGH NOOOOOO!

He can't kill her can he??? Surely this is just a ruse by Remender, surely???

Maybe it's Eva doing some kind of Mis-direction in Fantomex's abscence and we'll find out he's got a clone growing in the world just in case anything ever happend to him so he could come back too!

WOW can't wait to the next issue!

No, I don't think there is any mis-direction. I think she reallt tries to kill herself. However I don't think she dies. My guess would be that the future X-Force finds her, fixes her up and takes in custody. That would explain her fighting old geezer versions of Wolverine, Cable and Punisher in the #29 preview art.
