FSaker said...: I was going to say the same. It was sad when we found out Marcus To wouldn't be in charge of the art in KoX, but it turns out that Bob Quinn's art is just as gorgeous! And the colorist is doing an amazing job, too!

The butterfly and the CB helmet surprisingly look great together (well, at least to me).

Also, Gambit looked kinda grumpy in the middle panel in the third page, so I was already expecting him to be whiny again, just like in Excalibur... but then I realized he's smiling in the other two panels, and that's awesome! Gambit NEEDS to smile more. And he also needs to survive this story (so do Betsy, Shogo, Meggan and maybe Rachel; Howard is free to kill everyone else if she wants to, though I hope she doesn't).; April 28, 2022 at 6:14 PM

Rahsaan said...: I actually really enjoyed this issue. Elizabeth's characterization was great. I'm hoping to see the other characters fleshed out more than they were in Excalibur.

Jubes gets no love. LOL.

And I appreciate that Otherworld also seems to think that Rachel is the one true Phoenix and adjusted her power signature accordingly.

And yes, poor Jubes... then again, we know she'll soon go partying with Dazzler and Boom-Boom (a fantastic team; I just hope the writer will make the story as fun as these characters are - well, Boom-Boom is kinda boring to me, but I guess she could be more interesting with the other two ladies).; May 6, 2022 at 10:24 AM
randybear said...: Yeah the current iteration of furies are treated essentially as sentienls in OW. The one from the 80s was terrifying no way would Betsy and the other OW mutants stand a chance against giant hoardes of the the original Fury but still cool seeing them used to this day; May 6, 2022 at 11:26 AM

I need to go back and read some of the Furies' earlier appearances if they were even creepier back then. I do recall from the snippets I have seen that they were more human-sized.

I think it would be awesome if Tini ties them into what's going on on Earth with ORCHIS, the Sentinels (Karima and Nimrod), Stasis, Technarchy, Phalanx, and now YOU-KNOW-WHO (deliberately not naming that entity so I won't spoil for FSaker who I know is a few months behind us). If the Furies follow the Knights back to Earth and Tini interweaves them into the Machine/Meta-Human story nicely, I will give her her flowers.

She already gets flowers for the first issue of Knights. I enjoyed this one issue way more than I did the entirety of Excalibur!!; May 6, 2022 at 2:39 PM

As for Kwannon's new uniform, I think it's just temporary. And to be honest, I kinda hope it is temporary; as dated as the Hand bathing suit is, and as much as I hope Kwannon can get a new uniform, she deserves a nice new uniform. From what I'm seeing in previews for the Marauders issues, her uniform in the new book looks kinda bland.; May 10, 2022 at 10:58 AM

I feel Kwannon is a running joke the try to be Betsy very hard. I didn't know she stole the tk from Betsy also with the butterfly. The new costume is a needed break from the joke.; May 14, 2022 at 8:06 AM
