Wow, that's amazing! Alan Davis never ceases to impress us with his art!

Agreed. As one of the visionaries of Betsy Braddock, Davis is unique. I always loved his work. He understands that Celtic/Britannic culture that makes Betsy and Brian.

Her hair looks like Kwannon's hair, I don't like it.

Not related to Davis's art, but the Age of X-Man event was finally concluded here in Brazil. I read all of its tie-ins except the Nightcrawler solo (as much as I like Kurt and Meggan, it's a solo tie-in featuring a character who's already part of the main roster of other tie-in, so I wasn't interested), and overall, I must say I enjoyed it. Not the best X-over ever, but I thought it was a good one.

Sadly, the X-Tremists book was the one I enjoyed the least. Not due to that controversy about Betsy's body dysmorphic disorder (I can pretend that it applied only to her AoXM self; the portraits on Nate's X-Men headquarters do indicate that she was in Kwannon's body in that reality at some point as well), but most of the characters' actions just seemed to come out of nowhere (like them being shocked that Moneta left the pregnant lady chained in terrible conditions yet did nothing to take care of her afterwards, or Jubilee deciding to set the city on fire after remembering Shogo - and Iceman going along despite his memories still being the fake ones at that point).

Fortunately, Psylocke did appear a lot in the other tie-ins and was quite interesting in them. I could get a better idea of her identity in the Nextgen book, which was also my favorite one (the characters were very well portrayed, the art was beautiful, and it sorta reminded me of the Harry Potter books with the academy having four different "houses" even including the four Hogwarts colors - except the kids in green were the nicest ones this time). Damn, I couldn't care less about Glob Herman in the main books, but he was a great protagonist in this tie-in! And while Betsy was an antagonist, we can see she does care about keeping things peaceful and she does believe she's helping the students.

Anyway, since AoXM was concluded, the House of X and Powers of X stories are supposed to start here later this month. I'm eagerly looking forward to them; hopefully they're as good as people say they are!

Ah, I forgot, one thing I did like in the X-Tremists book was Blob's characterization. This was probably the first time he was likeable, and he was by far the most likeable member of Department X. Considering how he's always portrayed as a vile, disgusting person, it's almost shocking to see him as an extremely kind and sensitive man. I didn't expect to like Betsy in yet another messed-up love relationship, but their pairing was surprisingly endearing to me.

FSaker, I think the dysmorphia and eating disorders were only part of the backstory that Nate gave her to cloud her memories. He gave all the X-Men backstories in his reality to brainwash them. I got the distinct impression that none of her dysmorphia was real outside of that reality. Granted, Leah Thompson has not gone on record to my knowledge to confirm or deny that, but it was my distinct impression that her self-loathing was solely part of Nate’s implanted, fake memories.

I read that Leah will be adding Blob to the X-Factor team she is writing. If that’s true, I hope to see more of this newly enlightened version.

Rahsaan, thank you for the feedback about Age of X-Man and Blob's inclusion on X-Factor! Hopefully he'll be as nice as he was in Age of X-Man. If there's one character Thompson did a great job with, it's Blob; Psylocke was okay (not bad, but not great either), and Jubilee, Iceman and Northstar were just a mess.

That said, she seems to be a good writer (and comic book events often give writers and artists very short deadlines, so maybe she just didn't have enough time to plan X-Tremists). I hope she does a great job with X-Factor.

@Finn the face and the hair both look like Kwannon's; not Betsy's.

I'm assuming whoever requested this commission didnt have the foresight to explain this is the OG Betsy and just provided that one last page from Excalibur #1 as the pose is near identical

I would've emphasized it was the OG Betsy and not ninja Betsy as CB.
