X-Men Monday with Jordan D. White #4

Adventures in Poor Taste: X-Men Senior Editor Jordan D. White will talk a bit more about Marvel’s X-Men plans for C2E2, as well as provide your eXclusive first look at the cover of Marvelous X-Men #5. But first, he’s got a few X-Fan questions to answer!

AiPT!: Psylocke (@MentalMonarch) had a question about… Psylocke! We’ve seen Psylocke’s new telekinetic weapons but have yet to see the katana. Is it safe to assume that’s not part of her repertoire now that she’s back in her original body?

Jordan D. White: I don’t think she CANNOT form it, but I think it’s not her go-to anymore. I really liked her new sword and shield and would like to see her keep using them for a long time. Let’s hope they stick!

Boring questions selected.

@CmX, what would you have asked?

Rahsaan I asked about a new Psylocke mini.

They always pick the safe ones. The questions that can be mostly answered using simple logic.

@CmX, as in will there be a new mini? Or did you address specific topics you'd like to see explored in a new Betsy mini? If the latter, would you be open to telling us what those are?

Hair colour update?

Getting better!

@Benjamin Hutton I was thinking of the same thing. I don't like the dark purple tones.
What's the deal with her eyes though? Psylocke created herself her original body. Shouldn't she have blue eyes instead of the Mojo violet implants? Is she supposed to be blind again?

@Jaime, she can see and that's the writer being silly in my opinion. Her eyes should be blue. As much as Bets likes purple, I think she'd be sensible and make her own eyes blue. I do hope that her hair is still naturally blonde and that the purple needs to be redyed, but I doubt it as that would be silly as well that she could molecularly recreate a dye job that would need reapplication. Then again, her recreating her body from the life energies of Styx victims was silly, but I gave it a pass as she needed to have her own face again and not be a pawn of anyone else like Jamie B. or Sinister to achieve that. It actually probably would have been better written though if her body had been a cloned one from Sinister as it would have all its inherent traits, like blue eyes and blonde hair.

I often feel that nearly everyone on this blog would make better writers than the actual writers as we have an appreciation for continuity and in-lore logic that they seem to lack.

Her eyes have been purple for years, and it's on-panel as being part of her mutation - at least as far back as her being in Uncanny.

Ditto for her hair being naturally purple. If it weren't then Spiral mixing genetic coding wouldn't have resulted in the Kwannon body having purple hair and eyes.

I much prefer her with purple eyes anyway.

@Rahsaan Chisolm you are right about messed up continuity and lapse in judgement on behalf of modern writers. I'd rather call it neglect of previous work and mediocrity projection. Also right on her hair and eyes.

If cloning was involved Betsy would reside again in a strange body and involving hers with Sinister she would go down like Madelyne. Mr. Sinister practically rigs every clone he makes so it could be risky road to take. I'm not positive about Psylocke becoming the next Goblin Queen.

Then again are the examples of Ben Reilly, Kaine Parker, Otto Octavius Parker, X-23, Honey Badger. There are too many clones running around in Marvel comics that becomes infuriating. I've heard Tony Stark will walk the clone way in his upcoming story arc.
