X-Position: Rick Remender

CBR: This week we have Rick Remender on hand to answer questions about Uncanny X-Force.

What do you think each member of this eclectic X-Force team brings to the table?

Rick Remender: As a whole, they all have one thing on common: they've all been tampered with by evil-type folks. They're all characters that have had experience doing the bloody but often necessary work that the new team will take on.

Fantomex is an expert at spy games, covert business and infiltration. His misdirection couldn't be better suited for this work.

Psylocke is a high-leveled telepath, intellect and stealthy ninja.

Wolverine, I don't need to tell you what he does best.

Deadpool is a highly skilled mercenary who also happens to be totally unpredictable, a useful trait.

Archangel is cold, calculated and relentless, and in Warren, we have a seasoned veteran who has encountered nearly every X-villain. He also has all the funds the team will ever need and leadership experience.

I thought it was Apocalypse?

looks like Apocalypse taking control of Archangel's wings. But maybe not.

OMG There going to kill Besty again!

Apocalypse is mind controlling warren to attack his teamates but all of his teamates have healing factors so they'll recover except Besty.

If she gets cut in half she dies. I'll be really pissed if they kill her again

I'm not sure but it doesn't look like Betsy got cut in half. I bet Warren probably resisted attacking her and she'll probably help him break Apocalype's hold on him, at least I hope.

Psylocke is behind Logan in the last panel so Warren's wings wouldn't reache her anyhow. I hope the writer remembers that she also has pretty strong TK power to protect herself with.

As for the healing factors I really miss the days when they had some limits. In the old days getting slashed up like those two guys pretty much would have meant death.

(Oh , and if they decided to kill Betsy again I'd be done with the x-books except for Astonishing as long as it had Armor in it)

@The Great Black North - Relax, that scene is probably just an illusion or a dream. Notice that Apocalypse appears as a grown man in it, despite the fact that he came back as a child. Plus, do you really believe that Remender would kill two team members in that gory fashion right in the second issue?

Sure, Remender is well-known for his unpredictability, but I doubt that any of the X-Force members will die so soon (well, except for poor E.V.A., who is the second best member of the team). The solicitation for the third issue even mentions Fantomex dealing with E.V.A.'s loss, and that wouldn't happen if he were really decapitated like the last page shows (unlike Wolverine and Deadpool, Fantomex does NOT have healing powers, as far as I know)...

She will probably be killed in this illusion, though. And maybe that image is what will either break Apocalypse's influence over Warren or get him completely in control of Warren.

If you look behind Wolverine's leg in the last panel, you'll see Psylocke (who appears to be fine) she is out of the way of Archangel's strike. Some people on here should really look at the images before freaking-out. Use a bit of intelligence too...I doubt Remender is going to kill any of these characters in the second issue 3rd page.
