I know, right? The main image is amazing!

this is what the mini SHOULD have been. more blasts from the pasts ;)

Compared to the usual "body swap" thing to explain Psylocke's story, I think I like the words they used here better: "experimented upon" and "recombined". They don't sound confusing. At least for me.

Wow, this looks awesomely good!! Great art and great description of her story; it even acknowledged that she wasn't simply body-swapped, but really recombined.

What comic book is this scan from? It looks like a must-buy!!

What a nice surprise to see Tolibao doing Psylocke again. Wonderful composition.

Is this comic a series of one shot pages explaining each of the X-Men's past, or are there larger stories involved?

Regardless, I do like the summary of her past. It touches on the most significant moments of Psylocke's history, making it much less convoluted.

I saw the other scans at the X-Men Reads page, and this book looks AMAZING!! Definitely a must-buy!

But I wonder if the webmaster of this site put all the pages in it. Because if she did, it sucks that Marvel didn't make a page for NIGHTCRAWLER, who is one of the most iconic X-Men ever, yet they made pages for DANGER, DOMINO and DAKEN...

Even the fact that he's dead can't be used as an excuse for his absence, since Cable and Jean got pages in this bool...

Sadly, Dazzler and Polaris didn't get one either.

Armor, really?

Now THAT is a cool image :)

Also, yeah, "recombined" makes far more sense as a quick explanation than "body swap"!

amazing! such a beautiful image!

"recombined" just means they are trying to imply that betsy is a mix of kwannon in personality as well as physically. to me, that's not a good thing. it's more complicated to have a character who's half someone else rather than betsy's soul inside of another body. i like betsy's old personality and don't really enjoy her all of a sudden being half kwannon and all of the issues that come of that. the kwannon thing happened so long ago. she would have dealt with it already.

you're reading too much into that. it's just the writer trying to explain this mess of bodyseap in a simpler manner. thre's nothing half kwannon is psylocke. some people...

Anonymous said...

Yeah. The writer was talking about the time when the bodyswap happened. Betsy and Kwannon were recombined, both had memories/powers of each other. This was the case back then, not NOW.

i dont think anyone is going to listen to someone who starts off by saying "no you idiots".

Its only since she came back from Exiles shes been a sulky cow again. When CC brought her back a few years ago she was fully adjusted, sexy and confident, she even said so herself "I know who I am". Sadly they have decided to regress her back into that cold, quiet character that clings to warrens arm and is allergic to expression or character development.

Sadly they have decided to regress her back into that cold, quiet character...

Which is understandable since she went through yet another body swap.

that clings to warrens arm and is allergic to expression or character development.

And this even doesn't make sense since it hasn't happened nowhere.

Where in the world has she been seen clinging to Warren's arm?

Very impressive...

Ok, guys. From now on, only registered users will be able to comment. I'm tired of all the rudeness and all the bitching going on.

I know it sucks to log in and write your e-mail all the time, but what can I do? _o_

Have fun! ;p

I certainly understand the decision.

To Anon at 1:56 PM:

Yes, Dazzler should have had her own page.
As for Armor IMO she's by far the best new X-character created in the last few years. And who actually has long-term potential. Even more so than X-23 who's also a good character in her own right.

It would have been nice to see Polaris as well. I'm not a fan of Dazzler's AT ALL but Polaris would have been nice. This is an alright page, I like the description.
Thank you luckystar by the way. It's a good idea. I can't believe someone actually said "no you idiots". Anyway, go Betsy!

I luv this panel, too bad there isn't one for Alison as well.

Is it me or is the actress who is playing the new La Femme Nikita a perfect cast for Psylocke?

Anonymous said...

Sorry, but I disagree. Maggie Q is bad actress, with an emaciated looking body and a way too angular mannish face. It would be like casting Paris Hilton as Psylocke.

FSaker said...

I don't think Maggie Q's face is mannish at all, she's very pretty. But she may be too young to play Psylocke...

I think looks are the last thing to be concerned of in casting, though. I mean, when Hugh Jackman was announced as Wolverine for the X-Men movie, before we got to see him characterized, I thought he was a terrible choice, as he's kinda tall (compared to Logan's short stature), good-looking and without a menacing expression. But when the movie came out, the man WAS Wolverine, the characterization was perfect!

Whoever gets to play as Psylocke in a future movie just needs to get the character and her personality, and everything else is up to the team working with costumes, make-up and such. Except, of course, if the movie intends to show British Betsy and casts an Asian woman, or intends to show Asian Betsy and casts a caucasian woman; kinda like Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li in that SF movie... that was completely unconvincing (and her bad acting skills didn't help either).

Unknown said...

I know the acting is a lot more important than the, I just see people on the other websites saying she's got the looks for the part and I couldn't disagree more.

I still think Maggie Q looks like a man. It's the long rectangular face, square jaw and long knife like nose. That combined with the starved 12 year body is why I'll never understand why straight guys are so crazy about her or why people suggest her for Psylocke based on looks. But yeah, the acting is more important than the looks and Maggie is a bad actress too. That's why I'm so against her as Psylocke. She's just so wrong for the role on both fronts. I could like a plain Psylocke if the actress was good and got her personality down.

Speaking of Kristin she is an even worse actress. Some people have suggested her for Psylocke too. She's really pretty but she's one of worst actresses I've ever seen. I watched 4 seasons of Smallville and she just kept getting worse and worse, it was unbelievable. She eventually ruined the show for me. I would just much rather see no Psylocke than a Psylocke played by either.

I'm really sorry if I came off as too harsh :( . I just don't get Maggie Q at all and think there could be much better actresses out there to play Psylocke.
