Are you sure there's no Psylocke in this issue? The CBR forums mentioned she fought one of the Predators X alongside Wolverine, Storm and two other people I can't remember right now.

She also cameos in this page (next to Wolverine): http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_vmizTggXAos/SwboWyd9_eI/AAAAAAAABUg/LBwwBF3ufBo/s1600/UXM517-01.png

LOL. no. I tought it was one of Fraction's better issues yet. Granted it's a big fighting scene. Rogue was amazing! The absolute highlight for me!

@Fsaker - I heard something similar. I wonder if Betsy is involved in this fight.

@Fsaker.

She is. But just two cameos with no lines. That's what I meant. =[

Ok, I've checked it again. Two face cameos! And one arm cameo while fighting Predator X! LOL.

She will be around when Scott manage the psychic rescue in Emma's mind with the help of Xavier, next week UXM #518. Drawed by Dodson. And Psylocke #2 too... So no worries, we got lots of Betsy goodness coming :)

I´m tired of Rogue, Emma and Scott having all the attention in the X-Books I mean we have enough super-star complex with Mr. Wolvie over here U_U Bring back Storm, Betsy, Colossus, Nightcrawler, and every other hundred something mutants stranded in that freaking island !!! *O* They need to be rescued !! Like seriously !!

so, is the whole put-Psylocke-on-the-cover-even-though-she's-not-in-the-story deal a way for Marvel to build up her profile? I mean, I guess I'm not complaining, but it's kind of a tease... same with that Psylocke attacking Ares variant cover back in the Dark Avengers story line.

they probably have to add characters to the covers sometimes who are NOT scott and emma, because they are the entire focus of every issue but they can't have every issue only be of them on the cover. they suck i hope they both die someday. if i was a writer after fraction i would do so much to retcon everything he did and kill them off just for spite. i think most people have had enough scott-and-emma to last a lifetime.

In that second cameo w/ the cuckoos Betsy looks like a fracking Klingon.

"I´m tired of Rogue, Emma and Scott having all the attention in the X-Books'

I resent this comment about Rogue. She's just regained spotlight. She was gone for some two years from a single panel in the X-Books. Psylocke, in comparison, was a lead in Exiles. Rogue deserves every panel she is in.

@Mike - Yes, Rogue does deserve the spotlight she has gotten. Now it is time for Psylocke to gain some fame. In that regard, I think Betsy is certainly headed in the right direction.

The best part about it is that for the first time it is her face and her arm that cameo in the story, instead of her ass...

Rogue deserves every panel shes in?! are you serious? Rogue has had far far more than her fair share of panel time over the past what 30 years? Has she devloped at all, nope shes still the same whiny self centred boring x-man and still in a stupid on again off again relationship with the cliche cajun.

Also dont use Exiles as anything positive for Betsy, relagated to some badly written 3rd rate title, being leched over by Morph and Sabretooth and becoming the poster mutant for the reason Exiles got cancelled is not good, we are lucky we got her back at all. She even had to share that with another bloody Rogue.

Lets not forget X-men Forever where yet again we are seeing more of the same tired old Rogue. And Ulimate Rogue and Wolverine and the x-men Rogue and....

Selene said...

"Same whiny,self-centred,boring X-Man"?Talk about ignorance...You haven't read anything related to Rogue since Carey's Adjectivless X-Men run,have you?

Anonymous said...

I have read EVERY X-men comic since Claremont originally joined x-men including all of careys Rogue and I have watched Rogue de-evolve into one of the most unreadable undeserving characters in Marvel.

Selene said...

And your point is that Rogue "de-evolved" under Carey, who made her a leader, gave her control over her powers and, more importantly, returned her inner strength back?

Anonymous said...

When is Rogue not crying about one of the following?

1. Her Powers
2. Gambit
3. Mystique
4. All of the above.

Didnt shed any tears for poor old Betsy though did she?

Selene said...

Er,sorry, but you are obviously stuck to the co-dependent trainwreck Lobdell and Nicieza reduced her to.Just so you know,Rogue has matured a lot since Claremont's "Revolution" era.Since the new millenium,Rogue has never whined about Gambit, her powers and her de-ranged mother(if exclude Milligan's run(where everyone was being angsty, really, even though Rogue had every reason to whine about the X-Men being stupid enough to vouch for Mystique)),in fat,Claremont and Carey redeemed her from all the mess writers of the 90's put her through.

And,for the record, not only has Rogue shed tears for Betsy's death(X-Treme X-Men #3),but she has also been the only one who has been properly honouring her sacrifice(X-Treme X-Men #17).

Didnt Carey fill her with the Hectacomb and infect her with virus 88, have Mystique betray her yet again and have her get back together with the little traitor gambit? Then she went off to cry in the outback and have Danger create the Rogue show in holograms.

Also no I dont consider Rogue cosplaying as Betsy and lying to Beast about killing Vargas as any kind of honour at all. Vargas only came to kill Rogue in the first place anyway, Betsy was just unfortunate enough to get caught in the cross fire of yet more Rogue melodrama.

"Didnt Carey fill her with the Hectacomb and infect her with virus 88, have Mystique betray her yet again"
Yes...and?

"and have her get back together with the little traitor gambit?"
Actually, she was mature enough to tell him that they should stay apart for a while before they act on their feelings again. And they're still apart.

"Then she went off to cry in the outback"
Cry?She was actually trying to get her power under control, since no-one else over the years offered to help her.If anything,Rogue in the "Salvage" arc was the most decisive, dynamic depiction of Rogue I've read in years.

"Also no I dont consider Rogue cosplaying as Betsy and lying to Beast about killing Vargas as any kind of honour at all. Vargas only came to kill Rogue in the first place anyway, Betsy was just unfortunate enough to get caught in the cross fire of yet more Rogue melodrama."
*face-palm*Look,I have my own irrational feelings about certain characters,so I'll leave you to yours. :-)

I agree with Selene; Carey's Rogue is awesome! He managed to get a character who was portrayed as completely pathetic, whiny and immature by Milligan and turned her into a strong-willed, brilliant and tough team leader.

I wish he could have written Betsy as part of the team as he wished back then... But hey, in a couple of months, we'll see Carey writing Betsy AND Rogue in the same team!! How cool is that??
