Geoffrey Thorne responded to fans on the CBR forums who felt Betsy Braddock was being reduced to Rachel's girlfriend. He assured readers there’s more in store for Betsy in X-Force.
Geoffrey Thorne: Betsy is not—absolutely not—"about Rachel." Well, not only about Rachel. No more than Rachel is "about Betsy" exclusively. She loves Rachel, but both of them have their own things going on. Trust me, you think you want me to spell everything out right away, up front, but I promise, you don't want that. Some of you feel burned by the last few years of Betsy. I can't help that, and I can't "fix" it in one or two issues—certainly not in a team book. I have plans for Betsy. We'll see if Marvel lets them happen. But even if they don't, in X-Force, she WILL get her due. Things are brewing in EVERYBODY'S camp. Wait until next issue.
In the meantime, Senior Editor Tom Brevoort confirmed that X-Force #10, being the 300th issue in legacy numbering, will be a larger-than-normal anniversary issue.

I'm dying to see what he does with Betsy. I think next issue is out in a couple weeks?
Nine days
Just a couple week? That would be awesome @Randybear.
I just picked up the latest issue yesterday and it ended on a cliffhanger.
I want to see what happens next lol.
Still don't like Rachel/Betsy as a couple.
I think Rachel seems a little immature for Betsy or something lol.
I'm definitely interested in seeing who Tank is (spoilers.........)
At the end of last issue he called them friends.
Also something is happening to Rachel's powers, definitely curious as to whats going on.
I did kinda chuckle at Betsy not helping Rachel at all when she was getting attacked by the Avengers in that "bad guy's" mind. I forgot his name.
I think Betsy was kinda exasperated by Rachel at that point or she knew Rachel needed to get it all out when she blasted all of them and Betsy was like "feel better?" LOL.
I was kinda impressed that Betsy and Rachel both were able to enter someone's mind and still hover telekinetically in the physical world.
I would think that wouldn't be easy.
I also can't wait to see Thorne's plans for her @Randybear. I'm very glad he chose Betsy for his team
(and also glad it appears he and TPTB know good and well that Betsy suffered under being CB if we read between the lines of comments).
I still feel like if he is allowed, he will have Betsy give CB back to Brian and give her her own unique codename.
Crossing fingers. I definitely been writing in :)
Thanks @Lady Braddock.
Thats awesome:)
I am pretty trustful concerning Betsy's direction! This last issue opened space for other developments.
Tank's identity also got me, I think of Colossus or Madison Jefries, but these may be too obvious.
@Edu I went to Colossus too actually.
Obviously not sure or anything, but the way he talked at the end definitely seemed like someone who knows them closely.
Yeah and Collossus' whereabouts are not kown yet. I only saw a mention of him playing chess with Magik in other book.
Oh thanks for sharing @Edu. I'm definitely intrigued.
Not sure why he'd have to hide his identity (if it is him).
But I'm very interested in finding out the identity of Tank soon.
dont forget we need more people to email officex@marvel.com to get a girl a solo. PLEASE dont say anything backhanded or bitchy. BE POSITIVE. We have to work the system. Just say you think she deserves a sexy bad ass new uniform that will elevate her AND that she also so much lore to go into for a solo.
X-force has indeed several intriguing stuff : why other X-Men can't know of its existence (once after Krakoa's fall mutants should be united as prejudice against them has raised again and the own members of X-Force might come in need of help of other colleagues), what is going on with Rachel's powers, who is Tank (and why his identity needs to remain hidden as not even the telepaths know who he is), who is manipulating/observing Forge's actions, why the analog called for Surge's inclusion in the team, and maybe what the monster in issue #1 may have affected Betsy. Also, death and betrayal have been hinted formerly. I have also thought that maybe even the analog may turn against Forge and the team. We know what the analog does and with what intent, but could even the X-Men (or other mutants) be pointed as potential fractures?? This would bring pretty difficult choices to be made.
Speaking for myself, now that the monster of the week format is beginning to change, I am curious about all these possible stuff yet to be developed!
