Comic Book Revolution: Knights of X #5 continued its free fall as it plummeted from the number #79 spot to the number #143 spot. Now, to be fair, Knights of X #5 was released on August 31, 2022. However, a number 143 ranking is so awful that even it Knights of X #5 was released earlier in August its sales ranking still would have been outside of the Top 100.
Again, pay attention to the writers of these poorly performing titles. You will notice the same names resurfacing again and again. This title is a Tini Howard “gem.” Knights of X failed when it was Excalibur. We know that Marvel is already canceling Knights of X and is going to replace it with a similar title penned by Tini Howard. And we all know that the new title will also be a sales failure. Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I am pretty sure that is the slogan for the X-Men editorial staff.

At this point they just want her to build the character world etc for the MCU ugh imagine this clown getting free reign to do whatever she wants with Betsy for 3 years now and counting. Sad time for us
Will you all sign and share if I start a petition for Elizabeth to join the cast of X-Men, Red, or Immortal? Those are the only mutant titles I'm enjoying and that have interesting writing.

But do you think the MCU really intends to introduce Otherworld and the Captain Britain Corps? If that's the case, at least this sad time may pay off if the film (or live-action TV series, or animated series, whatever) turns Betsy into everyone's new favorite superhero (even if she won't be represented the way we wish she'd be represented).
...Then again, maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem that Shang-Chi's film boosted his popularity the way we'd expect a MCU film would, did it? At this point, I fear that maybe many people grew tired of the MCU (honestly, that's my case).

@Rahsaan, is X-Men (the adjectiveless one) still the book with the "team of mutant superheroes"? If so, Betsy being Captain Britain would fit perfectly in it (in fact, if Howard hadn't kept Betsy completely isolated from Krakoa since Excalibur, I suspect Marvel would have either added her to this book by default, or at least added her to the annual Hellfire Gala polls for readers to choose the team's final member).
Not implying OW and CB are coming anytime soon to MCU but surely Howard's several runs will have an impact when the time comes

Hats off to the webmaster/-mistress of the blog for his/her candidness. I may not always agree with the fandom here (particularly with regard to the whole yellowface subject), but the commentary on the editorial staff is absolutely spot on; the X-office deserves zero sympathy for their commitment to a formula that just doesn't work out. Tini Howard alone isn't the problem.
