Ordinarily, I would see this was a platonic peck on the cheek, but Rachel seems to be mackin' real hard. Some say the friends make for the best lovers, which is why I was hoping for Ray and Kate. I was feeling the connection between Bets and Wisdom though.
Yes, that kiss looked more than just a friendly kiss to me as well.
I'm... not sure I like this idea. I like Rachel (even though her backstory is even messier than Betsy's), and Betsy's time with Cluster already indicated she could feel attracted to other women as well (even if Cluster was a man's brain in a female body - then again, some people point out that even if Fantomex is a man, it doesn't mean that all three brains of his were male, so maybe Cluster did identify herself as a woman); the problem to me is that, if they do become a couple, it lacks proper development. Some may say that their psychic interaction in the first arc and their dance in the Hellfire Gala are a development, but to me, it feels too shallow.
For comparison's sake, Claremont's Reload arc had way more development that could allow us to buy the two of them as lovers.
@FSaker, totally. Ray totally seems to be making a move on Bets. At the Hellfire Gala, it was hard to read and could be taken as platonic, but her body language and speech here seem like she is totally shooting her shot.
If Bets does get with Ray, then those Summers genes must have a strong pheromonic pull on her. Her initial sexual tension with Alex, followed by her almost affair with Scott, and then her sexual dalliances with the Nathan clones. LMAO! I guess Ray and Gabriel are the only two Summers left.
Exactly! There's no problem with Betsy and Rachel becoming romantically involved with each other, but Marvel should at least develop this, bringing them slowly closer to each other, rather than just introducing this idea out of nowhere.
If they do become a couple, this is yet another example of a valid criticism people often make about Howard's habit of having the story jump from point A to point B without explaining HOW it moved from one point to the other.
@Rahsaan your point made the possible romance between Betsy and Rachel more obscene.
Betsy did fell for Alex Summers and confessed her love for him seconds before the entrance to the Siege Perilous portal sharing a passionate kiss. Their romance was one sided with Betsy pining for Alex knowing his heart was torn between Lorna and Madelyne.
Betsy made out with Scott Summers to his surprise and years later had regular casual sex with Nathan Summers, Scott's son.
Indeed Gabriel Summers, Rachel Summers, Ruby Summers and Christopher Summers remain unchecked on Betsy's list.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

Was looking forward to Rachel being Kate's true love per Claremont, but it looks like Tini is instead trying to set her up with Bets!
Betsy and Rachel friendship is legendary like Jean-Ro, Betsy-Ro, Yanna-Kate, Rahne-Dani, Hisako-Megan. Let's keep it pure.

Yes! Making it something romantic all of a sudden is kind of weird.

I just realized they finally gave Betsy some dialogue to indicate that she was indeed victimized. Took them long enough. Smh lol.

I'm also glad the Starlight sword lost its resemblance to the quantum sword of Captain Marvel and Phylla-Vel.
Like Marvel was trying intentionally to make Betsy a Captain Marvel rip-off and thankfully they stopped in time.
