Betsy will probably be back soon (which doesn't make her pathetic "death" in the middle of the event any less frustrating), but I'm curious to see if Howard will be able to write Excalibur without using Apocalypse as the axis for her stories. Maybe now this book will finally become great. Or maybe it'll crash and burn.; November 25, 2020 at 4:37 PM

Jaime Braz said...: @lucasg_i The ending with Cyclops and Marvel Girl weaponize the Vescora was genius. The little plots came together to achieve victory. I was annoyed by the unusual fairy challenges however they were a red herring Saturnyne used being Fae in nature. It hurt me to see Betsy used as a tool for Saturnyne to get back the Captain Corps and all the Beyonder incursions took her away. The Betsy Corps left me and Saturnyne gaping.

Tini Howard had a plan from the start but she is a sibyl writer and keeps everything secret with distractions, false alarms and abrupt endings. Jubilee and Shogo were instrumental in the defeat of Amenth and Arakko which gives me new hope Excalibur will be good even though Howard made me raise an eyebrow to how she plots. There is no dull moment in Dawn of X Excalibur rather confusion, madness and unpredictability like Apocalypse and his past and exiting the team and his future in uncertainty. The thing I am not a fan of is Betsy locked in Captain Britain status. I don't see it a viable position post Hickman era and as member of the X-Men.; November 26, 2020 at 10:47 AM

Those 2 pages in Excalibur were so weird showing the return of the CB Corps it felt so anticlimactic. Also sucks Asrar apparently didn't have enough time to draw those pages. Ugh.. much like every other reveal in Howard's Excalibur is fell flat.

And how Hickman brought in the Corps during the big fight was.. womp womp... they appeared as if they were the saving grace but the enemy was just destroying them left and right like nothing lol what a weird way to reintroduce CB Corps. Like wow what a weak first showing.

And I realize now they were all wearing the same armor there was no real unique designs (apart from the many animal versions seen)

As if they asked To to design her CB armor to be gender neutral so all the CB Betsys (male or female) could wear it but I liked how you'd see all these uniquely designed CBs; December 1, 2020 at 11:20 AM

Tobias Chatti said...: What I try to say is that it's out of my comfort zone the many different Betsy captains. The nostalgia of Pet Avengers is strong with Betsy Throg and Betsy swan and Betsy dragon and Betsy gorilla but it's a little for laughs I don't know really. I waited for a butterfly in this big zoo but it hasn't come.

randybear said...: It could be theyre versions of Betsy transformed into animals or could just be different earths where lets say everyone is an ape or a dinosaur. I think there was even a mini a while back Marvel Apes I believe? Lol I think they included all these animal variants to make the Corps appear more diverse since all the humanoid Betsy CBs are wearing the exact same design with zero variants from the animals aside.
