#tbt: X-Men #38

#tbt: X-Men #38 – In the psychic plane, Psylocke is about to confront Jean Grey. Jean reminds her that this exercise is designed to help her refine her telepathic abilities.  Betsy offers a very belated apology for flirting with Cayclops, although she was certainly influenced by Kwannon’s more sensuous presence in her mind, the truth is, it was she who found Scott to be very attractive. Written by Fabian Nicieza and art by Andy Kubert. Read full summary here.

I don't mind the short hair, but it was weird how she suddenly had it for no reason, then a couple issues later her hair was long again, for no reason. Kinda pointless.

Then again, I remember reading somewhere that the writers in the 1990s had no idea of what direction to follow with Psylocke, what explains the attempt to "retire" her when she locked the Shadow King into her mind and left the X-Men for a while. I guess the haircut was an attempt to move her to another direction, but they didn't keep it going.

Of course, then Claremont returned and one of the first things he did was to bring her back (he really loves her).
