Uncanny X-Force #14 Spoilers

Spoilers: Cassandra retrieves Psylocke and Phil’s head to the Griffith Observatory, LA, where her revenants awaits her. She orders the Demon Bear to reduce Psylocke’s psychic powers while the Revenants place Phil’s head inside the ring of corruption. The Revenants focus their energies to block their fortress from teleporters, and so the Great Corruption takes place with a giant being rising from the ground. Elsewhere, X-Force tries to protect the civilians while the Revenants are let loose in LA. Back to the Observatory, Psylocke wakes up and Cassandra offers her an alliance: in exchange for Psylocke’s information on how to defeat Wolverine and Cyclops, Cassandra will give her original body back. Cassandra tells Psylocke she can start her life over, leaving her murderous ways behind if she takes her offer. X-Force realizes they’ll have to sacrifice either Psylocke or Ginny to stop the Great Corruption while they head to the vortex. Puck drives Psylocke’s flying Bentley and breaks into the Observatory. Puck rescues Psylocke, who leaves the place with a sad look on her face as she watches her original body. Cassandra prevents them from escaping, and both Psylocke and Puck fall into the vortex right into the Underworld.

...Okay, the description of what happened this issue is interesting, but it seems that Humphries ignored Remender's UXF run: there, Psylocke already received an offer to return to her original body... and refused (even though her refusal wasn't shown on panel).

It makes no sense that she would be tempted by Cassandra, when the price Cassandra is asking is much higher than what Jamie Braddock asked back then (he only wanted her to stay in Otherworld with him and Captain Britain).

I hope, when Si Spurrier begins his run with the X-Force, that he won't show Psylocke considering again to return to her former body. As much as I loved it and wished Marvel never allowed the first body swap to ever happen, that plot point is over. Let's move on.

Or Marvel can just give her her original body back and move the on for good... since writers who swear they won't address it always end up addressing it throughout their run, it's clear they like to toy with fans. If they just put her back in it and kept her as the badass she has grown into, we can all let it rest. The only reason Besty turned it down last time is because they wanted to put Fantomex to death and she had to co-sign to be restored.

The problem is that once fans let it go, some writer dredges it up and dangles it like a carrot and gets everyone all riled up again.

Haha, man, to be honest I don't even care anymore if she gets her body back, or not. I mean, it's not going to change who she is, right? Plus, Psylocke getting her body back is as likely as Jean Grey coming back to life anyway, which means it could always happen at any given time that Marvel chooses.

And also: just how many "original" bodies does Psylocke have lying around? lmao

Psylocke had a cameo in Nova #100 if anyone's interested

Actually, I think Jean coming back to life is more likely than Betsy getting her original body back. Let's face it, many readers don't even know she wasn't originally Asian.

Meanwhile, Jean is one of the most popular X-Men (even after her death - which is lasting quite a long time considering how many other heroes died after her and are already back to life), and she is frequently represented (alive and well) in other media such as cartoons or videogames (Jean was actually a part of the Phoenix Five in the AvX adaptation for the Marvel: Avengers Alliance game, which is quite confusing since she already hosted the Phoenix Force in it prior to that).

I'm surprised Jean wasn't brought back to life already, but I guess that's because of Bendis's idea to bring the O5 to the present days (it wouldn't make sense to resurrect Jean at the same time her past self is walking around). Nevertheless, I guess she'll return as soon as the O5 return to their time.

@JJfroud - I saw a preview page of Nova #100 where Psylocke is being beaten by Dr. Doom in a panel. Does she appear in any other pages?

@FSaker
Yes, she later appears on two panels when all the heroes gather after the fight.
