"Dark Angel Saga" Sets Stage for Lapham's "Point One" Story

CBR: Marvel has released a fifth teaser image for November's "Point One" one-shot, this time revealing a bit of art from David Lapham and Roberto de la Torre's chapter in the oversized anthology. Presenting the most inscrutable illustration of the bunch, la Torre's image pictures a group of unfamiliar, unnamed characters, though the female carries sais, not unlike Elektra, and the man to her left bears some resemblance to Crossbones. The characters are X-linked as the updated press release tells fans the story spins straight out of "Uncanny X-Force's" Dark Angel Saga with more information coming during New York comic-Con's X-Men: Regenesis panel on October 16.

This follows the week's previous teasers, each highlighting other creative teams' contributions to the anthology designed to set the stage for the next year of Marvel Universe stories: a possible Scarlet Spider return by Chris Yost and Ryan Stegman, Matt Fraction and Terry Dodson's Defenders, Brian Michael Bendis and Bryan Hitch's tale starring multiple Ultrons and Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness' story featuring Nova.

Wow... do you guys have any idea of what can be the connection between Uncanny X-Force and whatever this new project is? I have no idea...

Some people are speculating that these may be villains coming from Age of Apocalypse, but I really hope they are not from there... I like Age of Apocalypse, and its reappearance in Uncanny X-Force was amazing, but I think it's better to stop with all these AoA characters constantly going from their Earth to Earth-616...

The sai-woman's armor is vaguely Lady Mandarin-esque...

The hooded woman reminds me of Sage...

@PsySpears is cute.

Tapestry,

The gal with the sais remind me of what Kwannon wore the first time we saw her parading around in Elizabeth's body: http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/spotlight/showquestion.asp?faq=10&fldAuto=78&page=5

If this is Betsy, can they please make the shape of her head less like a football? It's off-putting. I think I like the arm things, but I'm not liking the Liefield-esque utility belt, and the body markings. If they were going to give her the outline of a bikini bottom, why does it have to go so far up to her waist? It looks dated, as in early 90s futurism à la Silvestri's Cyberforce.

Yup, getting the Reavers feel to this. This is probably completely off the mark, but doesn't that Doug Ramsay dude control machines or something? Wouldn't it be cool if he used the Reavers like puppets? I know they're not machines, but the look of this cover, plus the thought of Betsy being single again, and possibly gaining a Darke Psylocke side to her after what seems like some kind of Apocalypse-Inducing process going on in the X-Force 17 pencils posted up above, made me think, hmm, what if she hooked up with Doug, then went to her hated enemies, the Reavers, and went like, "You bitchez are mine now, get to work!" and they're all like, "Okay, sexy", not like they would have a choice because Doug-in-love would do her bidding. Haha.

Oh - the other thought that came to mind, which is also probably off the mark, is that this is Apocalypse and her Four Horsemen.

I say bring on Apocalypse-Psylocke. I imagine that they would not make her a formulaic Apocalypse, which would not make her Horsemen formulaic either. I'd like if she could keep her Apocalypse side under wraps, like bands have side-projects. So her main albums could be X-Men and X-Force, and then she could put out singles and EPs as Apocalypse, like an electronica side project or something. :D
