"Gold Team" Fully Unveiled

Joining Wolverine's "Gold Team" are:
Fantomex in "Uncanny X-Force", Oya in "Wolverine and the X-Men", Rachel Grey in "X-Men Legacy" and Polaris, Madrox and Longshot in "X-Factor". So, what's your favorite team, Blue or Gold?

WOW... I love it!!
I was actually right about everything but Oya. I thought it could be Oya, but not seeing the cold side threw me off and I was kinda hoping for AOA Jean, lol.

Rachel's new costume looks really cool, can't wait to see the whole thing.

So happy to see everyone appear in the X-Factor teaser. I can't say I have a favorite, I just can't wait to read them all! YAY!!

Braxton,

I too am glad that Longshot and Madrox didn't bite it... and Rachel's costume is sick! Love the way they play homage to the hound costume with the spikes. I recall that she used to resent that look, but it's part of who she is and what makes her strong.

Rahsaan said...

I'm so Team Gold!!

By the way, would Oya be considered an elemental, like Ororo and Bobby?

Definitely enjoying this side more.

Gold. Definitely Team Gold. Team Blue is kinda dull, except for Psylocke and the Generation Hope characters.

But I wonder if X-Men: Legacy will really bring only Rogue, Gambit, Rachel and Frenzy. It's a really short cast (BTW, so is the UXF one, but I assume Wolverine is still a member of the X-Force and was just left out of the UXF teaser because it would be weird to see him twice in the Gold cast). I hope there are more people in it.

On the other hand, X-Factor has practically all the usual members (except for Darwin), plus Polaris and Havok. Quite a huge cast. Fortunately, we know Peter David can handle it!

Rahsaan said...

So is Darwin biting the dust like his First Class movie counterpart? Hmmmm. That kinda sucks.

well Darwin isn't dead, he left the team for awhile, remember? Didn't he absorb Hela's powers or something and now he is something else all together? He is a cool character, but I don't think he belongs in X-Factor at the moment, I feel like he may get lost. Darwin would actually be kinda cool to see in X-Men Legacy.

@Rahsaan

Darwin's not dead he ended up asborbing Hela's death Goddess powers and then went kind of crazy and quit X-Factor so he could sort out his issues.

GOLD TEAM all the way more of my favourite charcters are over here. I only like Storm and Emma on the Blue and obviously Psylocke but she's on Gold as well anyway!

Glad to see X-Factor back together. :-)

I just realized something disappointing.

Northstar?

Hi guys,

So after Kitty, Jub and Armor, Wolvie picked Oya as a sidekick ? This cougar doesn't know whent to stop, does he ?

I'm also gold. Definitly. With Legacy as my favorite roster.
But I don't like what I'm seing of Rachel right now. Let's wait... But i'm pretty sure it won't be my favortite costume.

Speaking of roster, X-Factor is a little crowded, isn't it ? They should give Polaris and Havok matching team-outfits. Right now, they're just looking like outsiders. Plus, will Alex and Madrox fight for the leadership ?

Though I love Betsy, I'm not that interested in X-Force, mostly because of Deadpool and Fantomex.

The most unexpected team is Wolvie's one. I was trying to figure out who the fiery silhouette could be. Could be a former villain, like Toad or Kid Omega (what the hell are they even doing here). That could be really good, or turn terribly wrong (or bad, or lame). Hoping Chris Bachalo will give his best !

Definitely the blue team. Aside from having my favorite characters (Cyke, Emma, Psylocke, Dani, X-Man, etc.), it also has the only two books that I currently read and will continue to read post-schism (Uncanny X-Men and New Mutants.)

The gold team only has two characters that I particularly care about, Psylocke and Iceman, and I'm not interested in reading any of the titles on that side. It also doesn't help that Wolverine is the head honcho of the gold team. *barfs*

The X-Factor cover *is* a bit overcrowded huh?

But Polaris and Havok might end up somehow in Uncanny X-Force just like how artist Marko Djurdjevic depicted "The Future of the X-Men" here: http://comics.ign.com/articles/110/1108072p1.html. What do u guys think?

Säge said...

I think it's the SDCC from 2010 and that we are in 2011. :D

Jokes asides, you can see Nightcrawler, Cable and Bastion in it. And they are dead...
This panel doesn't involve the Schism storyline.

I was more thinking that Havok and Polaris would join Legacy.
They were in the same squad as Rogue once and it turned pretty well.

FSaker said...

@Brian - Northstar is one of the X-Men whose side will only be revealed after Schism (or when Marvel releases the next comics solicitations). But don't worry, at the Canada Fan Expo, the Marvel people confirmed that Jean-Paul will still be an X-Man after Schism (he'll be doing double duty as a member of both the X-Men - whether Blue or Gold - and Alpha Flight).

@Säge - Yeah, I agree, Djurdjevic's panel seems more artistic than a defacto definition of who would be in which book.

However, regarding Havok and Polaris in the same squad as Rogue, I must say that the last time these three were together was in Peter Milligan's X-Men book - and I consider that it was really bad...

Rahsaan said...

Everyone,

Recall that Remender said in a past interview after that poster came out that while he loves the characters, he has absolutely no plans to include Alex and Lorna in X-Force.

Säge said...

@FSaker : what do you mean ? Cause I didn't think it was great either. But the team's dynamic wasn't "that" awful, was it ?

@Säge - You're right, it wasn't. It's just that the overall stories back then were terrible. But yeah, Havok and Polaris were nice teammates with Rogue, and in the right hands (Mr. Carey's, perhaps?), they could be awesome in the same team!

On the other hand, Havok and Polaris also have history with the X-Factor crew (...well, with some of them), so they should be fine there as well.

Still, I agree that they would probably be better in Legacy, as X-Factor is quite overcrowded (although Peter David can deal with lots of characters without neglecting most of them, unlike other writers *cough*Fraction*cough*), while Legacy seems to be in need of two or three extra members (come on, according to this teaser Rogue has only THREE teammates)...

Rahsaan said...

F,

Maybe Legacy is the new Fantastic Four. :-)

Matt L said...

@FSaker You are so right. Fraction's run on Uncanny was extremely disappointing. How he managed to have all the mutants on that island at his disposal and spend all of his time on Cyclops is a mystery to me.

jarim77 said...

The only good thing Fraction did was to bring Psylocke back.

treysome said...

Axel Alonso wanted Psylocke back, Fraction didn't know what to do with her afterwards since she wasn't Scott or Emma. But luckily we got Remender.

Rahsaan said...

trey,

Exactly! and that was evident in the whole POS that was the Sisterhood arc! We still don't know where Madelyne snatched her from? Or how she just transferred back to the Kwannon body after killing herself with her own psychic knife!?!? Shouldn't she be immune to her own powers? Hideous "script."

And that evil demon!?!? WTF? InWhen Maddie first got her she simply mind-controlled her, and then two issues later this demon was the cause of her defection to the Sisterhood!?!? Ugh!

Anonymous said...

Yeah, the more I read of that arc the more I hated it, which is unfortunate since it brought Psylocke back into the fold.

The first review here on Amazon is perfect: http://www.amazon.com/Uncanny-X-Men-Sisterhood-Matt-Fraction/dp/0785141057

jarim77 said...

It's an ok review but of course Psylocke was not "resurrected". She wasn't dead. She was simply with The Exils saving the multiverse.

Oh well....

Rahsaan said...

Being with The Exiles and pennned by the once illustrious Claremont during his worst writing equals dead.

Braxton Garris said...

Rahsaan,

I agree with you, I didn't like Psylocke's Exiles run much either, and it had such great potential with characters like AOA Blink, Longshot, and our Psylocke! Not to mention they had endless storyline opportunities being that they were a reality hopping super team. I didn't read the whole thing(read it for awhile, then just gathered important Psylocke issues for my collection), but from what I DID read... it was just "okay".
