The Story: SECOND COMING, Chapter 10
Things have never been worse for the X-Men. They're stuck in an impregnable dome of Bastion's creation. As if that's not bad enough, inside this dome is a portal to the Days of Future Past timeline through which thousands of Nimrod Sentinels are pouring. Cyclops has sent Cable, Cypher and X-Force on a suicide mission into the future to destroy the portal, but do they stand a chance?

Looks like Cyclops's pride and joy doesn't harbor the same feelings. At least the are finally delving into who Hope is. Please don't drag it out though. I fear SC will just be the defeat of Bastion and losing X members. Now comes the task of trying to figure out "how" Hope can undo M day. We already had the Cable series.

I hope that Hope's powers aren't just mimicry, because that would be just as uninspired as if she had telepathy and telekinesis. I mean, mimicry isn't exactly a brand new feature; Mimic has this kind of power, Rogue does too (although she needs to touch other people to do that), and Synch from Generation X could do that.

Anyway, now that the X-Force was sent to the DOFP timeline, do you people think there's any chance that they will meet the surviving X-Men of that timeline (that is, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Shadowcat, Franklin Richards, Magneto and Rachel Summers)? I know most of them died in the original DOFP story, but if I remember correctly, this timeline should have been erased when Rachel was sent to the present time of Earth-616.

On the other hand, in the panel for the next issue showing the exterminated mutants, the portraits of Wolverine, Colossus, Magneto and Storm are marked like an indication that they were killed... but one could always hope, right? I think it would be very cool if the X-Men from the DOFP future appeared to team up with the X-Force!

I really hope that "Hope" doesn't have power mimicry... That'd be lame.. unless She happens to have TK and optic blasts by default... but so far it looks like it'll be mimicry (tho uncontrolled for now.. and spontaneous)

Maybe Sinister gave her both Jean and Scott's powers....

@FSaker - Hi, it would be interesting to see how Hope changes the Days of Future's Past time-line.

psylocke has never looked better than she does on that cover

Oh noes. If Hope is a daughter of Jean Grey and Cyclops and it means Grey is still alive somewhere (like the Scarlett Witch) I'm done with this crap.

Nimrods are just like Iron Men

@Francis - I love this alternate dystopian timeline. Let's see if X-Force actually gets the chance to visit it. As for Betsy being on X-Force, I would love to see her there. Nimrod's are amazing. Betsy certainly showed some of them what she was made of.

@Centurion - Hi! Yes, it would be awesome, wouldn't it? Days of Future Past has always been one of the most brilliant stories the X-Men ever had (it's surprising that the same man who created the First Fallen and wrote the New Exiles series actually wrote in the past these timeless gems such as the Dark Phoenix saga and DOFP... oh, and Mutants Massacre, of course!), I always wanted to see the X-Men of the present meeting the X-Men of the DOFP future!

@3:43 Anonymous - I wouldn't say that Granov's rendition of Betsy is the prettiest ever made, but yes, she looks amazing!

@X-23 - I think there are few chances for that to happen... I mean, even if Jean is still alive, when would she and Scott found time for him to get her pregnant? He's been 24/7 with Emma ever since Jean died...

Plus, didn't a nurse mention in the flashback of the Messiah War event that Hope and her mother had had a rough day, and asked her if she wanted to meet her dad? That seems to indicate that both Hope's parents had been in the hospital (and probably got killed during the attack of the Purifiers).

does it look as if psylocke is flying on the cover?

@Fsaker - Hey there. I hate to say it, but it seems as though Claremont has lost his artistic luster... With the forthcoming cancellation of X-Men Forever, I certainly have little faith that any of his most recent projects could top his series of masterpieces from the 80s and 90s. Days of Future's Past reminds me of X-Men meets the Terminator. Dark, melancholy, and nicely shows that motiff of a small band of mutant resistance fighters and their struggle against a nearly insurmountable enemy.

no she doesn't. if she was flying so would emma and armor.

she's totally flying.

Haha. J/K. People really need to get over the fact that she's airborne again.

By the way, why did Granov draw Emma Frost in her underwear?

Not that I'm complaining; actually, it looks like a cool reimagining of her Hellfire Club uniform! While I think Betsy could cover herself a little more, Emma's uniform is too prudish nowadays, that doesn't fit with her personality. I think she'd be cooler in either this Granov outfit, or in the one she's wearing in Astonishing X-Men Xenogenesis (but without the gigantic boobs and butt).

@FSaker - I hate to go off on a digression but do you think that Psylocke may return for Marvel vs. Capcom 3?

I agree with Anonymous. People should get over her flying. Though obviously no one's commenting on it here, I'm just waiting for a post showing her flying again & then some people complain about her being airborne.
Anyway, this storyliune is a huge mess. When did everything begin going from one arc to the next arc with no between issues, etc? It is a MESS & a half. I liked the beginning of Second Coming, but since the issue *after* Kurt's death, the TERRIBLE issue that is, I detest it.

I´m sure she´ll be back for Marvel vs Capcom.....especially with her new powerset and the fact that she´s the most famous marvel girl of the franchise.....on a nother topic....when do you guys think we´re getting news from the new x-force lineup?

@Centurion - Well, I guess she has average chances to be in MvC3.

On one hand, she got a good popularity boost recently, she's always been quite popular in Eastern countries, and as far as I know many players used to select her in MvC2. On the other hand, depending on the final number of characters, she may not make the cut due to not being a current A-list Marvel character, like Thor, Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, friggin' Deadpool and people like that. Let's remember, she didn't make the cut back in MUA1 and didn't make it either in the original cast of the "prettier version" (that is, the one for PS3 and X360) of MUA2, while people like Venom, Songbird and even Gambit and Penance were chosen instead. Plus, it's possible that this game won't have a majority of characters from X-Men as in MvC2.

So, overall, I guess her chance is 50/50. She does, however, have potential to be in it; when MvC2 was released online, she was announced at some website as the Marvel counterpart for Chun-Li, who is the main female character of Capcom (and who is already practically confirmed for MvC3). Even though she's not the most famous Marvel girl (like Invisible Woman, Jean Grey or Storm), there's no other Marvel girl who could work as Chun-Li's counterpart...

Elektra and X-23 are more likely candidates for the fighter girl role and as Marvel are calling the shots i see them as more likely than her, even though Marvel seem to be finally giving her some well deserved spotlight in comics. However she is huge in the MvC2 tourney circuit as an assist for two of the god tier; Magneto and Storm so if they want to please hardcore fans she could be viable. Also she has appeared in all but one of the marvel / versus games in some form, the only one she didnt atleast cameo in was Marvel vs Street Fighter.

Personally I see her making one of the first batches of DLC which we all know is inevitable but not making the original roster.
