The Story: SECOND COMING, Chapter 11
The X-Men are losing the battle against the Nimrods and Cyclops knows it. Desperate times call for desperate measures and no measure is more desperate than enlisting a mutant with multiple personalities, each possessing its own power. That’s right, Legion is let out of prison to fight on the X-Men’s side.

Finally this is heading to an end. I'm getting tired of SC.

Wow, this is so mean to Legion... now that he was getting cured, Xavier is supposed to awake his personality disorder AGAIN?? Okay, desperate times require desperate measures, but still...

Hope Summers II, I LOVE you! That's how a true messiah does! Please, don't die by the end of Second Coming, and please don't be a reincarnation of Jean Grey (nothing against Jean, I just want Hope to be herself instead of a reboot of someone else)!

And... well, I can see Leech, Random, Bling!, that cowgirl whose name I forgot (but I know who she is), the guy with the spiky hair and an eyepatch whose name I forgot (but I know who he is), and I assume the slutty woman with a heart symbol in her belt is Boom-Boom... but who is the woman in a bathing suit and yellow X-Men boots? And who is the guy/creature that looks like a fusion between Onyxx, Indra and a fish?

I could see Hope being Cable’s replacement. They have said there will be two major deaths and Nightcrawler checks one of them off. So one to go. Psylocke is just a soldier in SC so I don’t expect lot of focus on her. SC is a Cyclops story.

i think the creature is litterbug and the girl with the yellow clothes the one in iceman's nation x story. i think her name is stinger

FSaker said...

Thanks! And what about the short-haired woman in blue bathing suit and X-Men boots?

---

Regarding SC, I'd say it's a story about Hope. It's too bad that Fraction has said in some interview that it was a story about Scott, like if everything X-Men related has to revolve around him. Sure, he plays a very important role in it, but Hope is the main focus of the story, not him.

@FSaker The eypatch, tall hair, legion-esque looking guy is "Erg".

The cowgirl is "Outlaw"...

I'm trying to puzzle out blue swim suit girl.

...is the blonde dude next to Random, Slipstream?

I'm not sure if that's Bling; isn't she always Blingy? Could that be Cc Reyes?

SoulTapestry said...

@FSaker I take it back. I see Bling now. LOL. Sorry. Hehe.

the girl in the dreads is Cargill.

the blond guy could be neophyte an acolyte. he appeared in messiah complex i think

Why does Cyclops have a vag in the third page? Artists have got to stop chickening out on male genitalia, it's ridiculous.

SoulTapestry said...

@Anonymous 5:07 - Yep, you're right.
@Anonymous 6:16 - Bingo!
@Anonymous 9:55 - Haha. Vag for sure!

Rahsaan said...

Hi, y'all.

I actually think the black woman with the dreads is Doc Reyes (whom I a adore , and would love as a cast regular in one of the books... awesome wit and personaliy) as her hair is locked to her scalp. Cargill's hair was always more like a mullet with dreadlocks. The hair close to her head was cropped short with locks at the bottom. Like a dreadlocked version of Rachel Grey's old mullet-style (if one can call that style, that is).

I think I've figured out who that mysterious mutant with the purple suit and yellow boots is, think it might be Persuasion, Purple Man's daughter, she was part of the 198

cyclops wants his balls back

Anonymous said...

@Anonymous 2:56 - maybe Jean has Cyclops' balls with her in the white-hot room.

Check this out :)

I think the bathing suit girl is Mortis, imo :)

SoulTapestry said...

@Anonymous 4:17 - Well, Mortis' psyche is fractured and she's under a psychically induced coma. Betsy is supposed to be working with her and said it would take a while to fix... So the likelihood is slim...

Well with the number of decrease mutants and the danger their in I suppose Psylocke speed it up :]

Other than that she might be one of those artist error characters, and the girl with the heart shape belt doesn't to be Boom Boom I'm thinking, as she had blonde hair and her Next Wave dress.

It's not that Cyclops has a vag, it's just that, as Adi Granov pointed out, he's not exactly a "big boy" down there:

I refuse to believe his balls are microscopic. I chalk it up to artists' reluctance to spend time on male parts lest their mothers walk in on them and think that they're gay. They should stop being afraid of their mom's thinking that they're gay. And if they ARE gay, they should enjoy giving Cyclops a package rather than beef curtains.

By the way, in that Granov cover, Colossus' package is obscured by his leg, Wolverine's package is questionable because of the interplay of shadow and dry ice smoke, Magneto's is hidden in shadow, and Storm is massaging Angel's with her forearm. Cyclops was the only unlucky one that couldn't escape a close-up, but Granov chickened out and made him the statue of David. Poor Emma.

I know this is off topic, but I'm still hoping that Psylocke makes Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

treysome said...

I think Emma Frost will make over Psylocke to MVC 3. I can see Marvel saying no don’t use Psylocke use Emma she’s the more prominent and important x girl at the moment.

Psychilde said...

Hmmm Emma isn't really a useable combat character though, I think it's doubtful Psylocke will be in MVC3 but there's still hope :D She was legendary in MVC2

FSaker said...

I agree with Psychilde. Remember what Kalina said about Emma in MUA2: there was the desire to add her, but they couldn't figure out how to make her powers useful in combat. Unlike Psylocke, Emma's telepathy doesn't give her any boost during a fight; other than that, she has the diamond form, but it would make her quite repetitive in relation to Colossus (who is much more iconic than her). Aaaand, let's not forget that, while Emma nowadays is very well-known, she isn't exactly very "well-loved".

Betsy still has the risk, however, of being replaced by Jean, whose combination of TP + TK could make her quite an exceptional fighter.

In the end, I'd say Betsy's chances are 50/50. She is popular in Asia, she has nice possibilities in a fighting game, and she used to be a fan favorite in MvC2; I just don't know if that's enough for the producers to choose her over more iconic or prominent characters.

@FSaker - Hi. A valid argument here!
@Psychilde - Hey. I agree. General popularity doesn't necessarily equate with a character being fit for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Characters are popular for different reasons within different venues. In the 90s, Betsy made four distinct appearances in the Marvel vs. games, whether she casted a playable character,support figure, or a cameo. That spoke well for her popularity in that decade. As for now, Psylocke is a resurgent figure who is now gaining greater attention in the comic book/video game worlds. She was amazing in MUA2, and would be a better cast character in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 than Emma or Jean because her character closely resembles that martial arts persona that's a staple of the Street Figther series. I guess the question we should be asking with MvC3 is which characters are the MOST likely to be dropped? Maybe then we could figure out who may be returning or not.

Cheers,
centurion

FSaker said...

@Centurion - Well, there are a lot of characters from MvC2 that we can assume will be dropped: Shuma-Gorath, Blackheart, Thanos, Marrow (as much as I ADORE her), Silver Samurai, Spiral, Omega Red, Sabretooth, bone-clawed Wolverine... I'd list Sentinel and War Machine too, but the first might make it to MvC3 due to its popularity in MvC2, and the second one, due to the current popularity of the Iron Man movies.

Problem is, the majority of the cast has good chances of returning (even though they aren't Marvel's main team anymore, the X-Men are still THAT popular), and with the inclusion of new characters like Deadpool, one could expect that some popular characters from MvC2 will end up being dropped as well. Wolverine, Caps, Iron Man, Dormammu and Hulk are already confirmed, and it's almost certain that Spider-Man, Storm, Magneto and Venom will return as well (besides Thor, who wasn't in MvC2 but will most definitely be added in MvC3).

centurion said...

@Fsaker - Ah. You read my mind, buddy! I read your statement about the X-Men's appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and wanted to weigh in on that. I would humbly argue that if the majority of the X-Men do not return (Cylcops, Psylocke, Colossus, Iceman) that could alienate many X-Men fans who loved MvC2 from purchasing MVC3. Ultimately, such a decision could affect sales, as there are people who would NOT buy this game because XYZ favoriate character is not present...

Making a game of this nature seems very difficult, because the devs are not going to make everyone content, and even the "least" publically popular character has the potential to be someone's MOST favorite.

I fully agree that those characters you listed above have the MOST chances of being dropped in the upcoming game. However, I don't see Psylocke being dropped at all, simply because she fits the profile so well for Marvel vs. games, has the appeal of ninja and fighter, and was VERY popular in the past Capcom games; she is regaining a greater degree of popularity since the 90s, too. Many of us thought she was going to be dropped in MUA 2 and she made it. Rogue, on the other hand, is a bit of a concern, not because of her popularity (shes always been strongly favored in general) but due to the fact that her power set has so radically changed since the 90s: she lost the Ms. Marvel powers that made her a strong candidate for the Capcom fighting games in the past. I hope she returns in the final cut, and if not, either as a DLC character, or if Capcom decided to release a "special edition MVC3" with more characters and features.

Great discussion!

Cheers,
centurion

They haft to have at least one Avenger’s girl. So I think Ms Marvel, Spiderwoman or Shehulk will likely make it. Storm will likely make it again as the X girl and people are already complaining Marvel isn’t all about the X-Men. There likely won’t be alt costumes since the devs have said they rather focus on getting as many characters in as possible so I hope at least everyone will have an awesome look. But even if they had 100 characters in someone will be pissed.
