FSaker said...: Unfortunately, thanks to this next event with Wolverine, it may take months until we get to find out whether Excalibur will continue with Howard, get another writer or be canceled (and also whether Betsy will still be in Excalibur, be transfered to another X-book's roster, or be sent to editorial limbo)...; October 26, 2021 at 11:23 AM
FSaker said...: In other news, has anyone here read Inferno #2? I haven't, but I read the spoilers and... well, I didn't expect that the Quiet Council would get their two new members now.

I'm a bit disappointed that Betsy wasn't chosen and that they picked Colossus, of all people. Then again, this was probably intentional due to the things that have happened to Piotr in the X-Force book, so this seems to be yet another bad decision to the list of X, Magneto and Moira.

Still, it would be nice if Betsy could get to do something in the two final issues of Inferno. After so many disappointing moments she had ever since the Dawn of X era started, she deserves to at least get a nice scene in Hickman's farewell event from the X-line.; October 28, 2021 at 11:34 AM

I would not hold my breath if I were you. I will not be surprised at all if none of Excalibur's members play any role at all in the Inferno. At this point, I wish Betsy had joined Ororo and Dust on Arakko. She would probably be written more captivating over there!; October 28, 2021 at 9:12 PM

Well, Gambit is shown in that art promoting the Inferno event... Then again, he seems to be either knocked out or dead, and that's not the kind of way I'd like for Betsy (or for Gambit) in this story.

Re: Gambit... Many of the Hickman standalone books have had fakeout covers, so for the time being I think we're stuck with the iteration of Remy that we see in Excalibur.

As for Sooraya, let me clarify. I don't think that she lives on Arakko full-time, but she has used her powers to help the citizens of it. If you don't mind a spoiler about her:

Storm is made no novelty isolated on Mars. Sure they named her queen of a citadel but Storm is for the people not a settler witch. Gambit and Jubilee are spent on Excalibur minimized to white noise. Why X-Force is axed cause it did tell a good story.; October 30, 2021 at 5:27 AM
