I wish Gerry Duggan takes over Excalibur. Cable ends and Tini Howard writes X-Corp.
Maybe we can see Betsy wearing something really stunning at the Gala! Hopefully she's not bound to wearing the bulky armor at the Gala too 😵
The first team of Krakoan X-Men... does it mean there will be a group of mutant superheroes, like the Justice League or the Avengers? And all the twelve issues will show the same night from different perspectives? I'm not gonna lie, I like this idea. It already sounds more interesting than the premise of X of Swords (then again, a great premise means nothing if it's badly executed).
Despite her Captain Britain mantle being supposedly quite a big deal and a way to inspire confidence in humankind, I doubt Betsy will be chosen to be part of this team of Krakoan X-Men (that is assuming this team even remains together after this arc/event), and to be fair, it doesn't bother me; it would only bother me if this team became the protagonists in Hickman's main X-Men book rather than getting a secondary book like every other X-title. As long as she gets a cameo in this story, that's fine.
Gerry Duggan is one of worst DoX writers. Meh.
BTW: I hope Marcus To isn't drawing the Excalibur Gala issue. He can't draw civilian clothing to save his life. It's always boring old lady dresses with him.
Right! You know how they do! There’s a good chance based on precedent of how role in big events that she will not be in attendance or will only be background fodder. 😂
I hope at the minimum Betsy has a solo variant cover with some unique design..Hopefully by an artist with an eye for fashion.
Either way I doubt Betsy will have much involvement. Much like how Swords spun from Excalibur and was mostly Tini's baby i think the same applies to the HGC Gala o lt with Duggan and Marauders
Only omegas on the cover...
Gerry Duggan is funny his comics have good action. Excalibur can use his writing.
randybear Betsy outside the Captain Britain cloth is great. Howard forgets Betsy is a model but To remembers she is.

Agreed. I just finished reading issues #6 of all first-wave Dawn of X books, and Marauders is easily my second favorite of them (only behind the main X-Men book). While the premise of mutant pirates seemed weird at first, Duggan made it work, delivering stories that are fun to read. He also turned the insufferable Mary Sue that Kitty has been for over a decade into the amazing Captain Kate Pryde, flawed (which is GOOD to help us relate to a character) but full of personality. Storm is a badass, Emma manages to be snarky while still showing there's a kind woman behind that façade, and Bishop's development from a lone wolf into a team player is great.
While Excalibur is my third favorite, it's sadly far behind Marauders to me. It's not a bad book at all, but I feel Howard misses many opportunities in the stories, both in terms of possible interactions between characters and of plot threads that could be explored about the Otherworld and Krakoa (it's odd that the Quiet Council doesn't seem even slightly concerned with Excalibur having to pledge allegiance to the United Kingdom over Krakoa).
...Oh well, at least it's by far better than Fallen Angels (what a waste of paper that was).
@FSaker Duggan knows writing. He turned Kitty around and made Iceman's homosexuality nice with Christian. Storm didn't show her hand to hand moves until Gerry.
Gerry for Excalibur would let Betsy be fearsome like when she was Psylocke and Rogue with Gambit hit hard.
I kinda wanna see what Zeb Wells could do with Excalibur. Hes always great on any xtitle hes written and Hellions has proven he can balance humor, action and obscure characters/lore.
Me too. At the moment Zeb Wells makes Betsy look like the monster and the Kwannon the victim of body swap. The problem with the butterfly in Hellions sours me.
Yeah its weird how this is the first time Kwannom has used the butterfly, in Hellions at least, she's used her TP plenty of times but now we see it when the Betsy murderbot attacks her.
Wells is clever guy I hope he will not make Kwannon a clone of Betsy to every detail. A thought it was Segovias mistake.
