Uncanny X-Men #1 Variant by Carlos Pacheco

Issue #1 is surely getting lots of variant covers. This one looks nice - in fact, all of them do (except for the Liefeld one).

But from what I understood from that interview with the three new UXM writers, this is just one of three main teams that will be featured in the first arc, right? I wonder if the other two will get the covers for UXM #2 and #3. I mean, sure, we'd want Betsy to be featured in all covers, but I guess many people here (myself included) would also like to see other X-Men being shown (like Rogue, Gambit, Colossus and - who knows - maybe even X, Logan and Scott in case all three of them are back by the time UXM starts).

I'd also LOVE to see ForgetMeNot, but yeah, he won't be there. Or, as I prefer to believe, he will be there but his powers will transcend the comic book and make us readers not realize he's there.

So dope ! I'm glad to see Laura Kinney back in X-Men comics as X-23 !

I think these X-Men are the core 10 who don't get transformed by the new Age of Apocalypse/Salvation.

Ok... it's so nice but... with a great group maybe we will have a focus in 3, 4 characters. I hope Psylocke is a principal...
PS.: I hated the new clothes of Sam.

My word, this Pacheco cover is generic trash compared to his 90's art.Compare it to the scans from Psi-War posted several days ago. :/

@Poetry, I’m with you. I actually did a double-take when I read the name. I thought it was a typo. He was one of my favorite artists for characters like Dr. Reyes, Marrow and Iceman.

Meh cover, but Betsy looks good. As does Kurt.

Unrelated, but have any of you been reading long enough to recall when Psylocke was listed as one of the Twelve before the 90s made pretty much of the best laid plans go awry? I do recall this. I kinda wish that we had gotten this original story:

Yeah, but then in that same instant they dissed her as being significantly weaker than Xavier and thus redundant.
She gets no respect.

"Psylocke
Leadership : Four issues of taking command of the team after all other leaders are absent, and then sending the remaining X-Men into the Siege Perilous, certainly is not on the same level of leadership as most of the other people in question are.

Engine : Her telepathic powers would fit in, however Xavier outmatches her by far, so Betsy is redundant.:

@Tazirai, my bad. I didn’t scroll all the way down. Yeah. They shaded her. Especially that line about mind-tricking everyone through the Siege. LOL. Although, I appreciated her doing that out of love for her family.

Well, she ended up being quite important in the Twelve story, nevertheless. She saved Warren from his Skrull impersonator (managing to identify the imposter without even using her telepathy), and then she helped Wolverine to break free from Apocalypse's control. And the proper Twelve characters were only glorified hostages for Apocalypse, so in the end, it's great that she wasn't among them.

But I still remember what a mess that story was. The reason behind the choice of the Twelve barely made any sense, the Four Horsemen were one of the worst formations Apocalypse ever had, and there were so many scenes where people acted out of character (I still can't forget Jubilee and Kitty ogling Wolverine while he was walking naked, despite their usual father-daughters relationship). The only good part of it was the multiple alternate realities briefly shown after Apocalypse possessed Cyclops.

I haven’t been on this site in a while- I’m glad I rediscovered! Isn’t Cannonball going to be in the reassembling of the original x-force?
