Jaime Braz said...: @randybear I'm deeply sorry for yesterday's eulogy I wrote about Betsy and the Excalibur not going to be accepted by American fans as her evolution. That happened because I mourn for Betsy losing this magnificent costume by Mahmud Asrar and of course her identity as Psylocke, a name that is as delicate and arcane as she is.

If it upset you I fully understand and take it back. None hope is lost either for this beautiful costume or Psylocke Betsy. If it's any consolation look at the bright side, at last an artist nailed the lavender inner portion of the costume as opposed to the icy white others miscolored.; July 24, 2019 at 4:15 AM
Jaime Braz said...: @Rahsaan the scoop you got in the link is the bomb news! And gives some credibility to the theory that Betsy will go super Saiyan from Psylocke to Captain Britain and back. Hope is restored that we won't lose this artistic masterpiece of a costume. Captain Betsy's costume isn't less awesome, it brings out the knight warrior personality of Betsy while the Asrar costume highlights Betsy's English nobility as a lady warrior.; July 24, 2019 at 4:19 AM

Lex said...: So 3 possible looks huh? Guess kinda like during her X-Force runs she'd have the a black more practical strike team look & then her standards blue X suit. At least until she got the black & white body suit with the all female X-team.

Probably the outfit she's got now(unless they've altered it) the Captain Britian armor for Otherworld threats. Can't think of what the third would be. Maybe something formal for meetings with Otherworld council?; July 24, 2019 at 10:34 AM

I always felt the Outback Armor was like an ode to her knight lineage, so this new armor is awesome in that it ties that all together, which I am certain was a deliberate design choice. And honestly, as physical a fighter as Bets is now, armor is a smart choice for her as her previous scantily clad clothes left her open to a lot of injuries. And I'm sure this armor's technology as flexible and mobile as her Outback armor was. Maybe more.

I also dig the red, white and blue and think it looks neat with her purple hair. I look forward to her having this look plus a rotation of other ones, including those that might incorporate purple and pink.; July 24, 2019 at 11:11 AM

randybear said...: Soap I dont think they are intended to lose Betsy but I think they are just rebranding her as an entirely new character. A year or so from now she wont resemble anything we once knew.

I used to LOVE Carol when she was Ms Marvel but when she became Cap Marvel she declined slowly to the point where I cannot stand her in the comics at all. She is so yucky and this is what Marvel has blatantly stated this is where they want to take Betsy as far as status so.. people say be optimistic but it sucks to see Betsy lose everything we loved about her.; July 25, 2019 at 5:51 PM
