Captain Carter #5 Spoilers & Art

Spoilers: Agent Braddock and Tony Stark kidnap Commander Lance Hunter and let him on about the conspiracy of vampires infiltrating the higher ranks of the British government and law enforcement and the framing of Captain Carter. Agent Lizzie also reveals she might be a mutant. With the aid of Commander Hunter, Harley hacks the security system of the prison where Peggy is detained. Braddock handles the S.T.R.I.K.E. agents by herself and frees Peggy. Captain Carter joins the fight, and the vampire threat is dealt with. Agent Braddock is promoted to Deputy Director General while Captain Carter chooses to resign.

Spoilers: While Captain Carter and Tony Stark team up to fight the mysterious lady’s henchmen, the woman escapes. Peggy and Tony are overwhelmed and decide to retreat. Meanwhile, Agent Lizzie Braddock and Harley keep uncovering the conspiracy behind the Prime Minister’s fabricated life. Lizzie shares that her father used to be Director General at S.T.R.I.K.E., which is why other agents feel like she earned her position because of her name. Peggy and Stark reunite with Lizzie and Harley, who reveal their findings about the Prime Minister’s fake past. Stark decides to have a meeting with one Dominic Lewis, an acquaintance of his who allegedly went to school with the Prime Minister. Later, Stark meets Dominic with Lizzie posing as his new assistant. Dominic, however, dodges any questions about his past with the Prime Minister. Dominic leaves for a smoke and commits suicide by jumping off a building after receiving a mysterious call. The Prime Minister also frames Captain Carter for multiple murders. The group heads back to the apartment, and Lizzie identifies the mysterious woman as Lady Jacqueline Falsworth. They also find out Jacqueline hasn’t aged in years and that her father John Falsworth is actually the Prime Minister, who also didn’t age. Later that night, Peggy deduces that the Prime Minister is a vampire and attempts to surprise him by herself in his office. The PM outsmarts her and have her arrested for treason.

Spoilers: Agent Lizzie Braddock thwarts the assassination attempt by unleashing her psychic powers at her would-be assaulters. Lizzie finds out one of the guns used belongs to S.T.R.I.K.E. and asks for Peggy’s help. Captain Carter hides Lizzie in her friend Harley’s apartment where the thee women devise a plan to hack Chief Hunter’s computer to obtain the weapons assignment list. The next day, Captain Carter sticks an USB flash drive to Hunter’s computer while distracting him. Carter is called to a briefing room where she glimpses a mysterious woman and some badly-injured S.T.R.I.K.E. agents. Peggy decides to flee while Lizzie and Harley find out the gun belonged to one of Lizzie’s teammate. Captain Carter pursues the mysterious woman throughout London while bumping across Tony Stark, who wishes to meet her. Lizzie and Harley find a suspicious voicemail by the Prime-Minister among the hacked data and realize all of the Prime-Minister’s public pictures are photoshopped. Meanwhile, Captain Carter is ambushed by the mysterious woman’s minions, but is saved at the last minute by Tony Stark.

Spoilers: After fighting in World War II, Peggy Carter – or Captain Cater – remained frozen in the ice for several years before being revived in the modern era. Now, a woman out-of-time, Peggy returns to England and attempts to adjust to normal life. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom proposes that Peggy takes her place as Great Britain’s hero once again to combat super-powered crime. Captain Carter is paired with a liaison agent – Lizzie Braddock – from S.T.R.I.K.E. to help her. As Lizzie and Peggy get to know each other, Captain Carter struggles with the idea of being a public figure as she’s attacked by Hydra agents.

Jamie McKelvie Teases Woman Out-of-Time-liness of 'Captain Carter'

SyFy: Next month, writer and designer Jamie McKelvie and artist Marika Cresta will revive the universe of Peggy Carter's Super-Soldier adventures with Captain Carter, a five-issue miniseries that borrows a key question from the world of Captain America: What if Captain Carter was frozen in ice, only to reawaken 80 years later in a new era full of new threats?

Peggy's re-emergence on the scene decades after the second World War will also change the balance of power elsewhere, bringing old enemies back to the fore and testing the balance of power in a world that has long since gotten used to a version of Captain Carter who was lost to history. That means Peggy will have to find allies, and while he's not giving too much away, McKelvie did tease at least one key arrival who's emerged in teaser art for the series.

"By now you'll have seen that a certain purple-haired S.T.R.I.K.E. agent by the name of Braddock makes an appearance," McKelvie said. "Quite a few other characters show up in various different ways, but I wouldn't want to give too much away at this point! It's definitely focused on the Marvel U.K. side of things, because the bulk of the story is set in the U.K., but that doesn't mean there won't be any North American Marvel characters showing up too."
