Age of X-Man: The X-Tremists #2 Spoilers

Spoilers: As Psylocke and Iceman tend to a little boy who fell off his bicycle, Betsy thinks about how at some point children are picked up by their parents never to be picked up and held again. Upon returning to Department X’s office, Blob warns the team they have a “controlled purge” on their agenda today. It turns out that Department X is actually responsible for setting the forests on fire so that the X-Men can put out and make people feel safer. Later that night at their HQ, Psylocke is left alone with Blob and lets him know that she’s picked up his attraction towards her earlier that day. Betsy offers to purge such thoughts from his mind. Blob is caught off guard and simply leaves in a hurry. For the following three days, he calls in sick and avoids work. Moneta is upset with all other members as they all seem content with simply pushing papers behind a desk instead of doing real work and volunteers to interrogate Nezumi. Jubilee finds out Moneta has been keeping Nezumi chained to their basement in poor conditions. Jubilee apologizes to their pregnant prisoner, but Nezumi calls her out on being a complicit for being worse than Moneta and pretending to care. Meanwhile, Psylocke finds a note from Blob explaining that he doesn’t want to forget his feelings for her. Betsy visits Fred’s house that night and the two of them engage in an awkward conversation. Blob reveals he’d rather lose his job than be forced to forget his feeling and feel nothing at all. He just wants to feel something. Betsy tells him of a recurring nightmare about mourning the corpse of her mother, but that she can’t bring herself to remember the last time her mother ever held her. As she approaches Blob, Psylocke says she’ll let him keep his feelings if he answers if it still hurts.

Marvel Comics Announces Historic X-Men Milestone with 'House of X' and 'Powers of X'

Marvel.com: After weeks of speculation from comic book fans around the world, Marvel revealed the next monumental chapter for the X-Men during this year’s Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. During Marvel’s Next Big Thing Panel, critically-acclaimed creator Jonathan Hickman announced two new series: HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X, beginning this July!

Ever since Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced the X-Men, fans everywhere have followed the extraordinary stories of the X-Men through seminal moments like GIANT-SIZE X-MEN, 1991’s X-MEN #1, AGE OF APOCALYPSE, and NEW X-MEN. Each of these moments introduced a new era for mutantkind—and starting this summer, the world will experience the next seminal moment in the history of the X-Men with HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X.

“We are excited to have Jon back with the Marvel family, and we could not have asked for a better creative team to help usher the X-Men into a whole new era,” says Marvel Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski. “While we can’t reveal too much about the story just yet, these new stories will redefine the X-Men and their place in the Marvel Universe. This is a historic moment both new and passionate fans won’t want to miss.”

These two new series—written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Pepe Larraz, R.B. Silva, and colorist Marte Garcia—will build from every major X-Men milestone since 1963 up through the current X-Men series and storylines fans know and love, including some of our most iconic characters from over the decades. Each series will be released on an alternate weekly schedule, starting with HOUSE OF X, followed by POWERS OF X. Fans will be able to follow along each week this summer and witness history unfold.

HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X will go on sale this July!

X-Men Monday with Jordan D. White #4

Adventures in Poor Taste: X-Men Senior Editor Jordan D. White will talk a bit more about Marvel’s X-Men plans for C2E2, as well as provide your eXclusive first look at the cover of Marvelous X-Men #5. But first, he’s got a few X-Fan questions to answer!

AiPT!: Psylocke (@MentalMonarch) had a question about… Psylocke! We’ve seen Psylocke’s new telekinetic weapons but have yet to see the katana. Is it safe to assume that’s not part of her repertoire now that she’s back in her original body?

Jordan D. White: I don’t think she CANNOT form it, but I think it’s not her go-to anymore. I really liked her new sword and shield and would like to see her keep using them for a long time. Let’s hope they stick!
