Knights of X #1 Art

Knights of X #1 Spoilers

Spoilers: Merlyn’s Furies raze Jackdaw’s Nest in search of mutants. The mutant Joshua Englehard is rescued by Captain Bretland. They ride a winged horse and flee to Lavender Keep, the secret headquarters of the Captain Britain Corps in the Floating Kingdom of Roma Regina. Betsy-616 has been leading the Corps to rescue mutants in Otherworld, which upsets Saturnyne, whose only concern is reclaiming her throne. Betsy seeks an audience with Roma and begs for her help. While Roma remains an ally of mutantkind, she can’t help Betsy directly. Roma offers her a quest instead. When Betsy opens the book gifted by Roma, her allies back in Krakoa – Gambit, Rachel, Meggan, Jubilee, Rictor, Shatter and Bei – hear the calling and rush to the Voltus Glade casting circle. Betsy manages to return to Krakoa and asks for their help to fight for mutants in Otherworld. Betsy later urges the Five to resurrect Mordred. As Mordred’s mind wasn’t backed up by Cerebro, Meggan uses the Waters of the Otherworld (gifted by Dr. Doom in Excalibur #23) in the process as the waters contain the only surviving record of Mordred’s mutant spirit. The resurrection appears to be successful until Mordred disappears from inside the egg. Betsy gives up and leads the others back to the Voltus Glade. Jubilee is worried that Shogo has been sleeping and dreaming non-stop about Otherworld and decides to return with him to ask for Roma’s help. Once they are gathered, Betsy opens the book and all are teleported to Avalon – except Jubilee. Bei deduces that the quest is for Shogo, not for Jubilee, who remained in Krakoa. Meggan suggests they could use Kylun, who’s been living in Otherworld. The Knights then find and rescue Kylun from Merlyn’s forces. A battle erupts between the mutants and Merlyn’s soldiers until a mysterious warrior riding a black horse appears helping the mutants. King Arthur retreats, and the mysterious warrior reveals himself to be Mordred. After Mordred joins them, the quest is revealed: Roma wants the Knights of X to retrieve the Siege Perilous. Merlyn spies on the Knights and urges King Arthur to take the Siege Perilous from them.

Captain Carter #2 Spoilers & Art

Spoilers: After Captain Carter’s return, Hydra’s terrorist attacks have become more common. The Prime Minister uses it an excuse to pass an Anti-Terrorism Bill, which grants the police the authority to arrest anyone. Captain Carter and Agent Braddock foil the latest Hydra attack in a shopping mall, but grow frustrated when they never learn anything of value from the terrorists arrested. S.T.R.I.K.E. Director Lance Hunter receives intel and assigns Captain Carter and Lizzie to stop a shipment of weapons. Hunter can’t reveal his source, which makes Captain Carter suspicious. The remaining S.T.R.I.K.E. agents also resent Braddock for being assigned to the best missions. Peggy and Lizzie manage to foil the smuggling and apprehend the criminal leader Georges Batroc; however, he wasn’t smuggling weapons, but refugees. After learning that the refugees will be deported without any support from the government, Peggy confronts the Prime Minister and lets him know she won’t be used for propaganda again. Lizzie agrees. Behind the scenes, the Prime Minister calls his office and warns that the duo has become a problem. Later that night, Lizzie tells Peggy about how her parents died when their house exploded in mysterious circumstances and her brother Brian has gone missing ever since. Lizzie enters her apartment without noticing she was being followed by hitmen.

Psylocke also explains why mutantkind has granted amnesty to former criminals. Professor X contacts Ppsylocke and orders her to return to Krakoa as the X-Men have succeed in stopping the new Sentinel program. The Five are able to bring the X-Men back from the dead and mutantkind celebrates. All, except for Jubilee, who allegedly died before mutant backup was possible. Jubilee’s loss ended up encouraging mutants to unite and establish Krakoa. X-Pieces of Gossip for "Destiny of X" (Spoilers)

BleedingCool: Not all X-Men gossip can be relegated to Mister Sinister's Red Diamond gossip sheet from Bar Sinister. Especially now we know he only gets it all by peeking ahead. Because, hey, Bleeding Cool can play that game too, without having to kill off chimaera clones of ourselves and Moira Mactaggert.

  1. Orra Serrata only has eyes for you. Or an eye for you.
  2. In Knights, the X stands for the ten members required by the quest. Oh gosh, oh golly, oh wow.
  3. In Legion…. well he has more personalities than ten. X is for the unknown.
  4. In Red, Thunderbird isn't joining an X-Men team, but a new Brotherhood, Vulcan is back to his old self. And Petra and Sway were never real.
  5. In Green, Nature Girl will be getting another new look.
  6. In Force Quentin Quire has gone AWOL. Maybe X marks the spot? Nightcrawler is also missing Gambit. Maybe because he's on Otherworld?
  7. Courtney Ross was the 616 version of Saturnyne, and the girlfriend of Brian Braddock, before being murdered by and impersonated by another multidimensional doppelganger, Sat-Yr-Nin. But once upon a time, Saturnyne was also Courtney Ross.
  8. Talking of precogs, Blindfold has only just been resurrected thanks to Moira Mactaggert;'s former ban on resurrecting precogs. Though Psylocke seemed to get a pass. When Psylocke was first introduced she was as a precog, something now forgotten about. But not by one of the many Captain Britains.
  9. The Altar is a mutant-only pocket dimension. The Starlight Citadel is the Lunatic Citadel. One book will give us back the Seige Perilous, the other the Circle Perilous. Either way, there is a lot perilous to go around…
  10. Chris Claremont is coming to Krakoa.
