X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #128 Art

X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #128 Spoilers

Spoilers: After the explosion at the Young Mutant Containment Facility in London, Betsy, Shatterstar, and Rictor find themselves engulfed in flames. The aftermath of the explosion caused by Nicodemus leaves Rictor with burns, and Shatterstar plans to teleport them to safety. However, their escape is interrupted when a firefighter accuses them of causing the fire, triggering a tense encounter with the police. Betsy uses her telekinetic abilities to deflect bullets, and in the face of hostility, they decide to bid farewell to Britain.

Upon their arrival at X-Corps’ floating island HQ, Layla Miller and Multiple Man tend to Rictor’s injuries. Meanwhile, Betsy shares with the rest of X-Corps that she has discovered they are facing the Externals, a group indifferent to both mutants and humans. She emphasizes that this lack of concern from their adversaries means that the upcoming conflict is bound to be brutal.

At the same time, in Nova Roma, Crule's sadistic actions terrorize prisoners, setting the stage for Selene's grand plan. In the presence of the Externals, including Nicodemus and Gideon, Selene discusses the process of ascension, emphasizing their detachment from mortal concerns. She dismisses mortal structures like Krakoa and Orchis as mere game boards in the immortals' grand play, teasing a power awaiting them—a power meant exclusively for the Externals.

X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #127 Spoilers

Spoilers: In the confrontation between Captain Britain, Shatterstar, Rictor, and the Externals, Nicodemus expresses disdain for his challengers. Absalom reminisces about being used to construct the External Gate. A fiery clash ensues as the heroes dodge Nicodemus's blast. Rictor decides to take on Nicodemus alone, citing their past encounter.

Betsy and Shatterstar engage Absalom in combat, with Absalom revealing bone shards akin to Marrow. Betsy and Shatterstar attack him simultaneously. During the skirmish, Absalom discloses that he and the Externals serve Selene, prompting shock from Betsy. Shatterstar intervenes, allowing Betsy to position herself behind Absalom. Betsy manifests her psychic knife – the focused totality of her telepathic powers –, attempting to induce despair in Absalom's mind.

However, Absalom counters with a nihilistic philosophy, using bones to break free from Betsy's psychic grip. Shatterstar responds brutally by impaling Absalom in the face with a sword. Betsy, displaying ferocity, suggests leaving the sword in. She delves into Absalom's mind to understand Selene's agenda. As Rictor attempts to restrain the Externals, Nicodemus holds them at bay and summons fire pillars. Despite Betsy's plea to stop, Nicodemus asserts that the children are already gone, signaling their departure.

The confrontation concludes with Absalom, wounded but defiant, claiming he doesn't need eyes to deal with the heroes. Nicodemus, declaring their departure, hints at ominous events calling mortals to hell. The situation remains tense as the Externals prepare to leave, leaving the heroes with unanswered questions and a sense of impending doom.

X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #126 Spoilers

Spoilers: At His Majesty’s Young Mutant Containment Facility outside London, Shatterstar, Captain Britain, and Rictor infiltrate the penitentiary. Betsy remarks on the need to diversify Shatterstar’s teleportation anchors. Their mission is to liberate imprisoned young mutants, but the unexpected absence of guards and alarms raises suspicions.

While exploring the facility, they discover dead and melting guards. The cells are open, but the detained children are nowhere to be seen. Betsy, concerned about the potential repercussions of a guard massacre by a dangerous mutant child, recognizes the severity of the situation. Rictor finds bone fragments in a broken camera, sparking thoughts of Marrow’s involvement, though Betsy dismisses it as inconsistent with Marrow's style.

In another section of the facility, mutant children are being herded into a portal by Absalom of the Externals. Absalom and Nicodemus orchestrate the process, revealing their cruel intentions. Unhappy with their forced servitude under Selene, Absalom tosses a defiant child through the portal. Nicodemus and Absalom discuss Selene's manipulative control, expressing dissatisfaction with being her pawns.

As Captain Britain, Shatterstar, and Rictor confront the Externals, Nicodemus notes a discrepancy in Burke’s vision, indicating that Betsy’s arrival was premature. Uninterested in the mutants’ mission, the Externals plan to leave. Rictor intervenes by blocking their escape route, leading to a confrontation. Nicodemus recalls Rictor's involvement in boiling them in magma to build Apocalypse’s External Gate. The facility becomes the battleground for a showdown as the Externals challenge Captain Britain, Shatterstar, and Rictor to a fierce battle.

Wolverine: Madripoor Knights #1 Spoilers

Spoilers: Wolverine, Psylocke, Jubilee, and Black Widow go to a restaurant to celebrate Natasha's successful rescue (as depicted in Uncanny X-Men #268). Suddenly, Captain America crashes through the restaurant's glass ceiling in the midst of a battle against a legion of Hand ninjas. Quickly, Wolverine and the others join the fight, assisting Steve in combatting the ninjas. Psylocke soon discovers that her powers aren't effective due to the ninjas having anti-telepathy protections. Jubilee aids her, and Betsy takes charge of protecting her. Wolverine goes berserk, slashing through numerous ninjas with his claws. Just when it seems they've defeated them all, another wave of ninjas arrives. At this moment, another group – a society of warrior women called the Bacche – joins the fray and rescues the heroes. The leader, Sabrina, is an old acquaintance of Wolverine. Sabrina explains that they intervened because they needed help, and telepathically, Betsy senses that these women seek her assistance. Psylocke decides to join them and takes Jubilee along. Wolverine, Black Widow, and Captain America regroup, and Steve informs them that mysterious parties are after a piece of highly secretive, possibly extraterrestrial military technology that will be auctioned in Madripoor. Steve requests Logan and Natasha's help in investigating the matter.

X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #125 Spoilers

Spoilers: Betsy is being interviewed in London by an anti-mutant talk show host who questions her views on radical mutant terrorism. Frustrated by false information and lies about British government camps imprisoning innocent mutants, Betsy walks off the set, prompting the host to call for security.

Confronted by a security officer and two Orchis Sentinels, Betsy, armed with telepathic and combat abilities, engages in an impressive battle, skillfully avoiding their attacks. With strategic moves, including a butterfly shield and using the Sentinel's own claws against them, she emerges unscathed. Shatterstar intervenes, beheading one of the Sentinels with his swords, but notes his need for recharge between jumps.

After a joint effort to defeat the Sentinels, Shatterstar is left exhausted and unable to teleport. In an alley, an hour later, Rictor unexpectedly emerges from the ground, and a reunion between him and Shatterstar takes place. Betsy, aware of making new enemies in the entire United Kingdom, requests Rictor to tunnel them back to Braddock Manor.

Back at Braddock Manor on Braddock Isle, Betsy contacts Moonstar and Thunderbird. She asserts that the British government is complicit in mutant abductions, much like the United States. Despite pretending to tolerate her due to the symbol on her chest, they closely monitor public opinion. Refusing to be endlessly debated, Betsy, Shatterstar, and Rictor prepare to depart through a portal. Donning her helmet, Betsy remarks that in politics, there are moments when one must actively engage by knocking on doors, with the first one chosen sure to capture people's attention.

X-Men Monday #238 – Steve Foxe Discusses ‘Dead X-Men’ #1

AiPT!: This week, writer Steve Foxe is back to dig into X-Fans’ questions about the first issue of Dead X-Men — featuring the reborn team of X-Men that never got a chance to shine… until now!

AIPT: What you could tease about Betsy’s role in Dead X-Men, which we knew expanded (or was the expansion in X-Men Unlimited)?

Steve: Please see that meme of the little girl saying “Why not both?” Betsy’s not a core cast member of Dead — you’ll see a LOT more of her in Unlimited — but Lucas Werneck’s killer cover to Dead X-Men #3 already revealed that we’ll see a certain Ms. Braddock popping up in the pages of Dead, too. As an extra tease for the very dedicated Betsy fans, I’ll say David Baldeon’s take on her is so good.

AIPT: What can you share about how Rachel’s role in this story came to be? Was her inclusion your choice, or did Kieron Gillen plan to incorporate her into Rise of the Powers of X from the start?

Steve: Rachel’s role was actually one of the coolest and most natural evolutions of this project. I’ve been lucky to work very closely with Kieron while developing Dead X-Men, and he’s been wildly generous in playing back and forth to make sure our book works and complements Rise and X-Men Forever as best as it can.

Early on, before Steve Orlando and I got the offer to work on X-Men Unlimited throughout the spring, I had my eye on Captain Britain and Rachel Summers, since I knew my good friend Tini Howard was wrapping up her long and awesome run of Betsy-focused books. It felt wrong to let Betsy and Rachel slip out of the spotlight for this final stretch of the Krakoan era, but they weren’t naturally fitting into anyone else’s plans.

When the plot of Dead X-Men started to come into focus, I suggested one or both as additions to the cast and, over a few months of planning and writing, Kieron and I ended up making Rachel incredibly central to both of our books. She’s really the tether from Dead to Rise in more ways than one, and I really dig how organically that came about as we both refined our plots. Massive thanks to Kieron for being such a wonderful collaborator and guide.
