Yeah @Rahsaan. I must admit that I am liking Jean a lot more since her resurrection. She seems a lot stronger, not in power but in knowing her inner strength. That's one of the things that always made Betsy stand out to me, her inner strength in any situation :)
@Finn - Actually, they needed EACH OTHER's help; Jean wasn't able to subdue the dupes by herself, either. And considering how Jean is considered the most powerful psychic on Earth (even without the Phoenix Force), I don't think Psylocke's skills look weaker at all.
Exactly. Again Betsy didn't "need" Angel's help as she clearly took on the clones by herself after he left(without his help lol). However a logical/smart person would mention that their teammate could assist instead of watching them lol. I have had jobs where my co-workers watched me do all the work. I have mentioned to them that they need to start assisting me. I could have done the job by myself, but why should I if we are both getting paid? The situation with Angel was similar to my experience. She was stating his assistance as her teammate would be useful since her telepathy wasn't working on the clones at the moment. When he left, she handled it. The other situation as others said was them assisting each other, Jean asks herself how are they supposed to shut down someone that isnt there, she then gets an idea, they combine strength, and she has Betsy take lead and locate some sort of conciousness. There is no "new" version of her. She just looks like her original body again (which looks very similar to the Asian body anyway lol) and has some new constructs (which again has happened in the Asian body). Jmo!
XMan I think Psylocke was more in shock Angel abandoned her rather than her literally needing him to survive the dupe attack.
Your argument is weak. Hardly anyone has had any major power feat displayed in these THREE issues and theres not a lot of focus on many of these characters.
These comments from the article I shared a link to above are spot-on.
4 HOURS AGO I'm torn between praying for Hickman to come save X-Men and him staying far away from the cancer that is Marvel Comics. I should probably just hope he does a Legion of Superheroes book. Seems Remender is smart enough to stay away. Like
4 HOURS AGO Remender's stuff at Image is so far beyond anything DC and Marvel are putting out that he'd be committing artistic suicide to agree to X-Men. besides, the whole controversy surrounding Havok's speech in Uncanny Avengers probably taught him to stay far, far away from X-Men. The truth is that what the X-Men represent is rejected by today's Intersectional believing Millennials, so it can't be saved... Like

2 HOURS AGO Havok's speech was that he didn't want to identify as a mutant. Which was shitty coming from a member of the Unity team and other mutant characters pointed that out in universe, which meant I was fine with it as a storyline.
Anyone thinking their favorite character should be so amazing and need to save the day is needing a break from comics. I Love Psylocke, she's my favorite character. BUT she doesn't have to be nor should she be the strongest. Psylocke's strength has always been to persevere despite not being the most powerful. NOBODY uses that Psylocke is OMEGA OMEGA crap anymore except hack writers. Omega on any given day only meant POTENTIAL, not ACTUAL Power gain.
The fact her and jean couldn't solo THOUSANDS of Jamies is not weakness. When Psylocke tried to do that during Inferno to just the Marauders, she took a Psychic backlash and collapsed allowing the Inferno into her mind.
Even with the stupid power creep marvel does. That's THOUSANDS of minds. Why should she or Jean even need a team if they can willy-nilly shut down anybody at any time?
@Rahsaan Chisolm - ...I don't know. While these first issues are far from the best the X-Men ever had, they're also far from the worst. So far, I'd say the relaunch is okay; not impressive, that's for sure, but okay. It's more than we could say for the recent Blue and Gold books (Red was probably a little better, but then again, it didn't have the pressure of being the flagship book for the X-Men).
I guess we'll only be able to judge the direction of this relaunch after the Disassembled arc, as it seems like a "prelude" to the real return of the X-Men.

Surprised Jean had Betsy take the lead in tracking and just assisted her. I like it though lol.
@X-Man, Grey knows when to fall back and allow others to shine.:-)

Wow Betsy needs Jeans help. That's what I dislike about writers missing continuity when Betsy is supposed to be stronger than this new version.
Oh and last time she needed Angel's help.. Sad. I dont like this writter's handling of her.

The art was so bad it was like a watered down version of Ron Garney's style.
@Finn, teamwork makes no one weak. Jean and Elizabeth were complementary here.

@CmX that's not my argument lol. I agree with you. She clearly did not need Angel to survive and everyone has been working as a team so far.
LOL!
